"Hmmm, from how you said it, it sounded like Ultra Beasts have been quite the menace and you got the briefing how to deal with them huh... I don't think they have been found in any other region than Alola, right? I wonder if it's related to Alolan legendaries or something... Man, other regions sure have it rough. Back home we only have crazy old men trying to go for world domination using Pokemons... after spreading moral high ground how Pokemons are enslaved and the idea of Pokemon ownership is ridiculous"
Tetsu sighed. "...It's not that I don't understand where the sympathizer came from though. There are indeed Pokemons that has been treated in less than flattering manner by their owners. It does made me question if living with Pokemon were right, and if they prefer to live without us... But..."
Riku gently knocked on his head. "Ah yeah, this guy here, back then he knocked my head, aheh... ow. I don't really understand his language of course, but he probably told me how he wanted to stay with me regardless of our circumstances. My sister then told me that what Team Plasma did indeed made sense if you think it from one side, but in other side, Pokemon that you caught has been so imprinted to you. The right way isn't to release them if they have been together with you for so long. The right way is to follow them closely, and let them guide you.
Since then I guess it's been my way of trainer... We're here as companion, not just mere friends. I hear what they want me to do, and they in turn assist me in my mission and desires. Together we'll be invincible, that's the idea!"
Thankfully it looked like Ettie was really happy that he understood her! He was wondering if he did it right, considering he just howled as he pleased, but she was appreciative! A slight blush appeared on his cheeks as he got hugged so suddenly. This is the first time he got hugged by any girls other than his sister! But.. admittedly, to him it does feels nice. Trying to shoo off the awkwardness, he lifted the younger girl for a moment.
"Eheh, does that means I'm in your cool kids club?" he asked to her jokingly.
Ettie trying hard to get Schizen, but for Tetsu it's alright. He don't quite understand Schizen either. Perhaps it's something that is normal for Scyhter but something that's rather... alien for them... Well, either way, Tetsu nodded at Ettie. "I can relate to your sentiment. i think it's true, but... I think Schizen just dislikes fighting for nothing because he's bigger than the rest, so he's... treated like the muscle of the group or something? He probably have that sort of distaste..."
Oooh, while he was battling, it seems Koa was swarmed by bunch of Abra. Prankster, they are... they tend to only have teleport and then often just use it to escape from battle... Looks like he managed to catch one though!

"That's a nice addition to the team there!" Tetsu commented at the Abra's capture. "Looks like that one isn't quite like the one I encountered... those imps loves to play prank on people. Teleporting as they poke someone around on the afternoon. It's harmless prank, but there has been people who was so scared they reported it to officer Jenny. Needless to say the Pokemons ended up getting lectured by an Alakazam for their prank."
Riku shook his head remembering the incident <The worst,> he spoke <no idea of ghost or psychic, the worst. No like.>
"Heh, still have bad time, eh bud?"
Riku just barked without any clear meaning beside his annoyance.
"Right, right, sorry about that. Anyway, congrats for your catch!"
...and just then, a Spinarak appeared. Hmmm, about the normal size, really. Tetsu looked at Riku who just shook his head no. He don't really want to fight this one. From what he can feel, this one is quite strong, and having a type weakness against this one is not what he wanted to do. Schizen also make a cross with his arms, a sign that he don't want to fight this one either... but yet, the Spinarak keep moving forward toward the group.
...A bold one huh.
"Hey there, lil fella. What can I do for ya?" Tetsu asked the Spinarak. It chittered a bit and seem to intent on conveying something to the teen. Schizen, the more attuned to the insect Pokemon, immediately chittered to Riku. Riku nodded and signed "help" to Tetsu. Ah, it's asking for help?
"What sort of help that you would like to ask here?"
It pointed at a tree... and make a gesture of something falling with the other 'arm'. More chittering. Schizen chittered at Riku, who looked at Ettie to ask her to translate for Tetsu.
<Spinarak found tree, fallen. Road block. If human takes detour, disturb sleeping Pokemon. Need help.> he concluded.
Once translated, Tetsu mused for a bit. "...Huh, interesting. That's true, it's the seasons for hibernation! Which means... there should be Pokemons who are sleeping at this time... I guess they can't really wait for the road to be cleared, lest people takes detour... I guess you're asking for my help then? ...Hmmm... I think that's doable..."
The Spinarak chittered further and guided the team... although "Guiding" probably isn't quite right considering they'll pass the fallen tree anyway. Tetsu's fear however came true. The tree... was more than sizeable. He can probably climb it, but any cars or bike passing through will need to take a detour.
"...That's a big tree," he muttered.
For the meantime, the idea is clear. "I don't think there's a massive need to clear the entire section... as long as a car or a ride Pokemon can pass through then it should be fine. Normally this kind of trunk need about two Machokes, but we have none... might as well as only do whatever we can. Schizen, can you please cut this section? From this one to this one..."
Lifting this would be impossible no matter how strong he is. But at the very least he can help a bit. Tetsu took out a small saw from his camping set.
"I'll cut the branches so this can be rolled later. Ettie, Koa, if you got anything that can help, could you help too? If not, mind waiting? It'll take just a bit."
Schizen scythe slowly cuts away at the trunk while Tetsu working on chipping away the tree branches. Riku helped around by taking the cut branches away.
"Alright, now... just gotta roll it... Spinarak, can you help with your web? Like, just make a strong enough of a web so Riku can help pulling from the other side."
The Spinarak chittered and immediately spun web around the cut trunk. Once the web are secure and ready, Riku readied himself.
"Alright, in three... two...HEAVE!"
Tetsu gritted his teeth and began pushing! Logs are really heavy seriously! Even with the cut section it somehow still heavy enough to make him dug his feet on the ground. Thankfully he wasn't alone. Riku too is pulling from the other side. Schizen, unable to push with his arm, instead used his shoulder to help pushing the tree trunk. "Alright, just keep going! One two... push!"
Tetsu pushes again. The log started to move. If he have more bipedal Pokemon, probably a Machop, he'd probably ask them to lift this tree a bit and overlay it with some smaller log or something so it's easier to push... Well, there's no need to think about what he don't have he guess.
"Just a bit more! Push it on the edge so it can turn that way a bit!"
The team switched direction and now pushed the log on its edge to change its direction. It took several minutes before the cut section of the log fully pushed out of the way. By the end of it Tetsu was panting. Geez... heavy... But they're not quite done. To ensure that the log won't suddenly roll down the road or something, Tetsu took several sizeable rocks nearby and began piling it up beside the tree trunks. All in all, a hard work, but at least it's good enough until someone can clear it up. Is his priorities wrong? Maybe. But long term planning isn't his strength, really!
"...Oh, by the way, would you like to come with us? Or would you prefer to stay in the forest?"
Who knows, maybe making allies with another spider would be beneficial...
Requesting review to increase Tetsu's strength. Tetsu attempts to befriend the Spinarak!

Post by Koa Leilani on Dec 21, 2020 2:45:55 GMT -6
With everything going on, Koa needed a little bit of a breather. That fight was a little chaotic despite most of it being the result of a single Abra wanting to fight in general. Malik hopped into Koa's backpack afterwards to relax since it was all over. It was a fun battle, though. He finally responded to what Ettie was saying "I'm sure we'll figure something out for everyone! We'll be picking them up at the Pokemon Center though so we'll have to behave while we're there. The nursing staff don't take kindly to people making too much noise or running around all over the place. Trust me, I worked for one a long time ago."
Ettie seemed to understand what they were talking about in regards to the Ultra Beasts. She seemed to feel sorry for them and in a way, Koa agreed with her. There were still points where the thought of them made him extremely tense and upset, but he had to grow and consider the other side of the story. "Separated, scared...mhm. We don't really know how or why they cross over, so we're not even sure if it's intentional on their part. Still, they need to be managed carefully if they're ever present."
As he watched Tetsu and Ettie chat and howl, he looked around and admired the scenery around him. He spotted a Caterpie slowly inching its way up a tree. If he didn't have Seina that would have been a tempting Pokemon to catch but for the time being he simply enjoyed watching. He brushed his chin thoughtfully when Tetsu mentioned Team Plasma "I remember hearing a lot of news reports on them. On the surface they had a cause that seemed righteous, but Pokemon and humanity are intertwined. We need each other. That's harmony, that's beautiful." He said. "It doesn't help that their case fell apart as soon as the leaders' ulterior motives were revealed."
At Ettie's request, he let the Abra out of his Pokeball, and at her excited state of mind, the Abra swiftly teleported behind Koa. He reached back and gently stroked the top of the Abra's head "Hey, hey, it's alright." He said in a soothing manner. "I think Alvis is a good name for him. It sounds dignified, intelligent..." The newly dubbed Alvis seemed receptive to the name as he remained at Koa's side. "Alvis is the first Pokemon I've caught here...welcome to the team, friend."
"You know...I'm not sure if I've asked yet, but what are your goals here in Ageos? I'm here as part of my job as a Ranger, so I travel and do what I can to help people and Pokemon alike. I guess my goal is to...become a stronger trainer to help with that. Aside from that I kind of do want to tackle the gym challenge and face off against the League." He knew he had a long way to go for that, but he wasn't going to let difficulty deter him anymore.
Tetsu then asked if he had anything that could help move the tree, but sadly not. "I don't...but let me see what I can do." He said as he watched Tetsu's team get things underway, preparing the tree to be moved out of the way. He put on some gloves to avoid splinters and braced himself on the other side of the tree to assist in rolling it out of the way "Careful now! Don't get too close or you might get hurt!" He called out to those around him. He took a deep breath and started to push forward alongside the others. He grit his teeth as he gave it everything he could, which would show the surprisingly athletic frame on this tall, thin trainer. While his build was clearly that of a runner, he had a surprising amount of strength to him, able to keep up decently well with Tetsu and his Pokemon. He wasn't quite at their level, but it was still beneficial to have him help with positioning and rolling the log to a safer location. He would work side by side with Tetsu and the others, pacing himself with them as he pushed. "Let's try and get it somewhere so it doesn't roll back into the road. A small indent at the side, even if it's only a couple of inches..." He suggested. Once the tree was in position, he helped push it forward a few more feet so it was braced against some other trees and left with no way to roll back onto the road and potentially hurt somebody. While it took a little longer, the safety of others was paramount. His muscles ached as he stretched "Aaagh I'm going to feel this in the morning...but it was a good call."

Post by Ettie on Dec 23, 2020 1:17:43 GMT -6
While Tetsu and Koa both discussed and talked about Team Plasma, Ettie tilted her head a bit quizzically; listening in on their conversation with clear curiosity, if the attentive way her aura-ears were perked were of any indication. She didn't really understand it all - especially given that she had never been anywhere near Unova, let alone among humans for long enough to hear about them. However, from what she could glean from the conversation, it seemed as though the team's motives were complicated; on one hand wanting pokemon to be 'free' (which made her wonder, weren't pokemon already?) whilst their leader had ill intentions of some sort that marred the team as a whole.
It admittedly flew over her head a little; but she wouldn't worry about it too much. It sounded as though Team Plasma wasn't a problem anywhere near here, after all - so she wanted to focus more on what was at hand now; which was traveling with her friends! "If I can call my pack my family, any pokemon should be able to call their partner their family, too!" She'd state with a wide and cheery grin; clearly confident in her declaration.
Ettie was oblivious to Tetsu's blush at being hugged, as she wrapped her arms around him - tilting her head against his collarbone. All she cared about was enjoying the close proximity to a friend, her tail continuing to wag with glee all the while. Tetsu lifting her up, though, would be met with a surprised squeak - the squeak soon devolving into happy giggling, as she placed her hands on Tetsu's shoulders and wrapped her legs around his torso for balance, as if she were climbing a tree. Tetsu's question as to whether he was in her 'cool kids club' would be met with a confused tilt of her head - though she'd nonetheless grin widely and happily, responding with zero hesitation "I dunno what a cool kids club is, but sure!"
As Tetsu explained the potential reasons for Schizen's distaste for fighting though, Ettie would nod a bit - tilting her head a bit as she mulled it all over. "I think I understand..." Ettie would hum after a second, nodding, as she glanced to the Scyther briefly. It probably was less fun to do something, when it was expected of you like that, huh?
Nonetheless though, as Koa sent out the Abra - whom he would soon dub Alvis - it seemed that Alvin would be quite shy, hiding behind his trainer! It wasn't too hard for Ettie to catch onto this - her aura-ears perking a bit - as she'd kneel down to make herself appear smaller, smiling warmly. "Hey, it's okay, Alvis; I'm a friend!" She'd chirp in a calm and friendly fashion, offering a hand in a similarly amicable gesture. "It's nice to meet you; I'm Ettie, and this is Anne!"
Anne, in turn, would make a bark of greeting; sitting down next to Ettie, and sniffing at the ground - as if to display that she was calm, and to avoid putting too much attention onto Alvis at once.

Anne, in turn, would make a bark of greeting; sitting down next to Ettie, and sniffing at the ground - as if to display that she was calm, and to avoid putting too much attention onto Alvis at once.
As Koa asked about everyone's goals though, Ettie would perk up a bit curiously, thinking it all over. "Becoming stronger so you can help everyone sounds like a good goal!" She'd comment in response to Koa's own goals, smiling brightly, before continuing "I just kinda wanna form a proper pack of our own, me and Anne - and I also wanna learn more about human stuff!" She knew what it was like to be a wild pokemon - she grew up out in the wild, after all! But she didn't know quite as much about what it meant, to be human.
Before long though, as the group resumed moving, they would meet a little Spinarak! Ettie would perk a little curiously, as she eyed the spider pokemon - although would otherwise keep a respectful distance, knowing quite well that the Spinarak likely was able to employ a venomous bite if it got spooked. As Riku glanced towards her to pass on the message though, the girl would nod, and glance in Tetsu's direction. "Guess a tree fell, and is blocking the road ahead!" She'd explain, continuing "There's too many wild pokemon sleeping 'round here for people to safely go around it, though."
With that being said, the group would - indeed - soon come across a large fallen tree; something that they could indeed climb, Ettie was sure - but it might be hard for some pokemon to get over it safely! Thus, Tetsu, Schizen, Koa, and Tetsu would all work together to move the giant log - cutting away at the trunk to smooth it out, and lashing it with webs to pull on it! While Ettie and Anne weren't quite as strong as everyone else - the two sisters would still try to pitch in by helping pull from the other side of the trunk...
... And a wild Chespin, too, would notice the commotion! Though she'd yawn a bit at her sleep being disturbed, it seemed that it wasn't too hard for the chipmunk pokemon to see what was going on - and using Vine Whip, she would wrap the vines around the trunk to help keep it moving!
Once the road was cleared, and the trunks were secured to the side of the path, Ettie would make an audible 'whew', leaning against a tree as she caught her breath, and watched the wild Chespin disappear back into the forest proper. "That... was hard work..." She'd remark between pants with a satisfied smile, glancing over at the others as she concluded with a giggle "But that was great!" Anne, gently nodding, would nuzzle against Ettie's hip affectionately - prompting the young girl to pat the Rockruff on the head; praising "You did great, too, Anne."
And on top of them succeeding at moving the tree trunk, Ettie would perk a bit as she noticed Tetsu being able to catch the Spinarak that they had met - smiling brightly as she came over to his side. "Oh! Another new friend!" She'd chirp excitedly, grinning happily at the pokeball that the Spinarak now resided in. "What's their name?"

Post by Tetsu Asterite on Dec 29, 2020 3:20:43 GMT -6
Tetsu looked pensive as he heard what his two travelling companion have to say. "Hmm, how to say... well..." he tried to sort out his thoughts before voicing it "...in a sense, I guess it's great that Beast Ball aren't available publicly, I think... Considering, how to say... these Pokemons are as far removed as they could from our world compared to most Pokemon... except probably select few... All I can say is that it's great that there is at least a... qualification you must have before you can even attempt to capture them. With abyssmal chance of capturing them with normal Pokeball, I think normal Trainers would have given up. And those who have qualification for them most likely won't release them and know how dangerous they are...
...I think they're case of Pokemons who must not be released at any cost, right? Considering that they could cause more than just a simple mayhem. So I think it's good that Beast Ball aren't made available to the public, and the fact the Pokemons themselves are not considered the ones that you may catch just like that."
After all, imagine if a city Pokemon were suddenly released in Wild Area, imagine how lost they would feel..."
Team Plasma seem to be quite popular even outside Unova huh. "Yeah,I kinda noticed that after all of those were over. We can't really live without each other, especially now that our world intersected so much. Well, all thing considered, Team Plasma had a good premise, but the moment they revealed their color, you can pretty much goes like "ah yeah, I thought so". It's kind of similar with Team Magma and Team Aqua isn't it? The former think they can use Groudon to create more landmass for human, while the former thought that they can return the world to its previous state where there are more place for Water based Pokemon. However, they lacked the data how disastrous would feuding legendaries be. In that case... honestly, we Unovan kind of have it a bit easy compared to disaster-laden Hoenn... at least until appearance of Kyurem."
Either way, after moving the trunk Tetsu was honestly quite tired. Koa said he might feel it tomorrow... well, yeah Tetsu have to agree to that. He too probably will feel it tomorrow. But enough of that. First he need to drink some water. He offered a bottle to Ettie, wondering if she have a bottle herself or she prefer to visit rivers rather than actually carrying bottles around.
"My Goal huh... Admittedly I came to this region alone to stay with my grandfather... He's aging, and... well, I decided to come here because... I wanted to be independent I guess? It's not that I dislike my family or I dislike my hometown or anything like that, no... It's just.. I wanted to be ready so i can follow my dream. It's... sort of my goal to be a Pokemon Ranger. There... happened to be something really bad happened in the past that caused a lot of damage to me and my family, and so... I wanted to become a Ranger to prevent that kind of thing happened to anyone else. So basically... I'm here to build a resume I guess! Plus training myself! Kind of doing well if I can say myself!" the teen flexed an arm.

"I think being a champion or challenging gyms would be interesting, but... how to say, I'll follow my Pokemon's desires of course. My main goal is just for them to help me and I'll help them get stronger. I hope that one day we can work as teammates more than anything. So they're more than just "friends", they're something akin to comrades I guess? Well that aside, if they ask me to challenge gym then I would."
Though the question remains if he could understand them or not. "Ah this one? Come out now, Moro!" Tetsu opened the Pokeball to release the Pokemon inside. The Spinarak climbed to his arm, perching on the wrist. He raised an arm as a greeting. "I have a Joltik named Citron. Moro and Citron both are variant of citruses. So that's the reason of the name."
The Spinarak seem to like its name enough that it was responsive to the call. "Spinaraks are great for exploration purpose and also rescues. Not to mention his character made him stands out. Don't you think how he was acting back then was similar to how a ranger would act? It's cold too, and yet here he is, skittering out instead of hibernating because knew a tree has toppled. I think in itself it was such a praiseworthy character, and so I invited him to my team! Thankfully he accepted, don't you think that's just the best?"
Ah, speaking of which, they're not done. From the bushes came out a pokemon that made Tetsu's eyes widened.
"...Smug snek!" he suddenly commented, pointing at it. The Snivy does not understand what happened and jolted slightly, but it seems to be less than smug compared to how Tetsu made it out to be. In fact, the Snivy somehow approached the group. Wow, this one isn't a brave one that's for sure. Probably a bit naive, but... Tetsu just grinned, loving where this is going.
"Hey there friend, do you think you want to join my team? It's long way from Unova and looking at you kind of remind me of home. Of course if there is anything that you want by joining my team you can voice it out! Ah uh, what else... mmm... but really, I just feel close to home when I looked at you!"
He wonder what can he give it... "Hmmm, say, are you interested in anything, like gym fighting?" a shake of head "oh thought so. How about farming?" a nod "oh, we can have a berry plantation somewhere in our secret base I think! Hmhm, what else... Oh, how about fashion or cooking perhaps? There are tons of different experience that you can get outside this forest. If you're interested in any of that, why don't you come with me? All I'll ask is please assist me now and then!"
And so he offered a nest ball...

He offered a bright smile in response to Ettie's declaration "I don't think I could have said it better myself, Ettie! The ideal relationship between humans and Pokemon is something familial. It's a relationship based on mutual respect and love for one another. It's an important responsibility for both sides."
The fact that Ettie never really had much human interaction until now was a little heartbreaking to Koa. Sure she was happy and full of life with her Pokemon family, but there was much she didn't know or understand. Still, she seemed very eager to learn and was happy to be among those who would consider her a friend.
Alvis slowly hovered closer to Ettie and Anne. He felt safer around them now they he knew they meant no harm. He reached out and held Ettie's hand curiously before he nodded his head happily in understanding. These two were friends.
As if to alleviate Koa's worries, Ettie's goal was pretty admirable. Finding more Pokemon to add to her pack and learning more about human lifestyles. She would be fine. She had the spirit and the motivation to do what she wanted to set out to. "If you ever need any help with anything, Ettie feel free to let me know. I can't guarantee I'll be the best teacher, but I'm sure I can answer some questions you might have along the way."
After everyone had worked together to remove the tree from the road, everyone took a short break after the strenuous work. Koa chuckled "Good work everyone." He said and wiped his brow.
Tetsu had managed to catch the Spinarak that approached earlier, much to Koa's delight "Ooh that's a nice catch." He said with a nod. When he mentioned the fact that Beast Balls aren't available to most, he agreed with the assessment. Ultra Beasts were far too powerful even by Pokemon standards. They were dangerous and a random trainer catching one could spell big trouble.
"You're right, Tetsu. There are Pokemon who were raised with human interactions. To suddenly be deprived of that would be devastating for them. I can't imagine just releasing a Pokemon who's spent so much time among humans like that..." He said with a sigh. He knew there were those who released Pokemon without ever really considering the consequences of that. He was glad Pokemon Centers and Pokemon Adoption services existed.
Koa brushed his chin thoughtfully "A ranger, hm? Well I think you definitely have what it takes, especially with how you interact with wild Pokemon! If you ever need someone to reference you, I'll gladly do so!" He said, eager to assist someone in their dream.
Tetsu simply wanted to be independent and help his Pokemon grow according to their wants and needs, which was a very admirable pursuit. "Well it seems we all have our goals and they're perfectly reasonable ones too! Soon enough we'll have some pretty big stories to tell, I think."
Suddenly, a Sentret scurried across the road and scrambled up Koa's body. "Hey hey, what's?!" He staggered a bit as the Pokemon perched atop his head and kept a lookout for anything...and didn't seem too keen on getting down for a bit. "...well I can't say this has ever happened to me before." He said with a laugh. As he gently tried to lift the Sentret off his head, it curled into a ball out of reflex. "What are you looking for, friend?" He asked the alert and skittish Pokemon. "Poor thing...I wonder if it lost its pack." He said as he looked around. His aura sight couldn't pick up any signs of other Sentret in the area. "Sentret are excellent scouting Pokemon...the Rangers use them and Furrets all the time on search missions..." He said, pondering something to himself.
He set the Sentret down and set a Pokeball next to them "Well if you'd like, you can scout all you'd like alongside me and my team. We'll be exploring all over for adventure and people to help. What do you say?" He said. A Sentret would be a pretty good addition to his team. It helped that they were absolutely adorable.

At Koa's offer for help, the young girl's eyes would light up quite eagerly, as she glanced up in the older man's direction. "Okay!" She'd chirp with a big smile, bouncing up to his side, and giving him a biiiiiig hug; nuzzling her cheek against his torso. "Thank you, Koa! I'll ask you, then, if there's anything on my mind!" Having people she could rely on was great; she already felt like she was forming a little pack of her own, with Tetsu and Koa, in a way!
Though, as Tetsu and Koa discussed the Ultra Beasts, something would occur to Ettie - frowning softly. "Is there no way to help them home...?" She'd ask softly, tilting her head with a confused and concerned hue. If there was a way for the Ultra Beasts to end up here, then surely there could be a way for them to go home - even if it isn't immediately apparent - right? It seemed like trying to get them home, was kinder than just trying to keep them contained...
Nonetheless though, Tetsu would eventually show off Moro - to which Ettie's eyes would light up happily; smiling brightly to the little Spinarak. "Hi Moro!" She would greet the spider pokemon, waving back and chirping "I'm Ettie, and this is Anne; it's nice to meet you!" She couldn't help but wonder, when she'd get to meet Citron, too!
Anne, in turn, would give a brief bark of greeting; looking the Spinarak up and down briefly. She didn't entirely understand the functionality in having a Spinarak companion that Tetsu would go on about, but he seemed pleased over having Moro around; so she wouldn't question it.
However, as the group continued along, they would meet some new pokemon - a Snivy and a Sentret respectively, for Tetsu and Koa.
As Tetsu exclaimed about a 'Smug Snek', Ettie would tilt her head a little quizzically. "Smug snek?" She would ask, repeating Tetsu's words with a confused hue. The Snivy certainly didn't seem smug, and what did 'snek' mean? Nonetheless though, the Snivy would approach the group - prompting Ettie to smile, as she crouched down to the snake pokemon's level. "Hello!" She would greet it, ready to get to know even more pokemon. However, she would otherwise not interfere in Tetsu's interactions with it - simply watching as the boy would get to know the Snivy, before offering a nest ball; which it was happy to accept!
And then there was the Sentret, the scurrying of the normal-type immediately grabbing Ettie's and Anne's attentions, as their gazes snapped in its direction almost entirely by the instinct that any predator has, in seeing a smaller animal dart around. As the Sentret began to climb up Koa and perch on his head, however, Ettie couldn't help but giggle and laugh. "Dawwww, he likes you already!" She'd chirp, watching as the normal-type proceeded to scout about from its perch. "And even he knows that you're a perfect vantage point!"
However... At seeing just how skittish that the Sentret actually was, and at Koa's mention of it having lost its pack, Ettie's expression would fall a bit; concern quickly becoming apparent. Was this Sentret looking for its family...? The idea of having lost one's pack seemed so sad; even if Ettie and Anne were on their own, they at least had each other, and they knew how to look for their family if they ever wanted to go 'home'. Thankfully though, Koa was happy to take the Sentret in - and the Scout pokemon, in turn, was happy to take him up on it.
"Everyone's making so many new friends!" Ettie would chirp with a happy giggle, a bounce to her step as she continued on down the road, glancing between Tetsu and Koa both. Just off road, Ettie would briefly spy a Chikorita hiding among the shadows - though as soon as her eyes met the pokemon's, the grass-type would dart off back into the woods. Huhm. "What're your guys' new friends gonna be called, do you two think?" The young girl would soon ask afterwards, glancing between the other two guys.

Hmmm, that's a hard question. "I'm not an Alolan, Koa is... and he's the one who's experienced with it, so I can't say much about it and I don't know how true these informations are but... but from what I know in articles published about Ultra Beast, it's said that they came from Ultra Wormhole. The Wormhole itself will linger for a while and usually can be opened as long as it wasn't too long then... but we're talking about Ultra Beast that has been caught... so... uh, most likely the Wormhole won't be there for them to return to... And those that can access the wormhole... now that I have no idea. I don't quite remember the article much afterward. I think it's probably classified information?"
After all people can't just release a sensitive information pertaining to a region's politic, otherwise it could bring destabilization in power of the league of that region.
Ettie's positivity seem to be something that the Spinarak liked. It made some chittering sound, something that sounded like praises of her characters. He spoke too fast that even Riku told him <slow down>. But it doesn't seem he wanted to repeat his words. All that Riku can heard was how he called Ettie "a very helpful lass" and "a good leader".
Heh so he got a chance for a reference from another ranger huh? "Will take that offer if I'm still on that road when I'm of age then."
And already he managed to catch the Snivy! "Verdelite, I think," Tetsu answered. "She's definitely a bit naive, and seem to be more interested in fun of life, but we'll see how that goes! Ah, uh... about smug snek, that's kind of what Snivies are nicknamed in my region by most of my friends heh. Because Snivies tends to look very smug. Especially the sassy ones. They're the kind that would turn their head away from you. But this one seem to be a fine lady."
And looking at Koa's latest catch, Tetsu smiled. "That's one very adventurous Sentret! Quite big for its size too... I wonder if he's here because he know that you need a good pair of eyes?" he mused. "Wouldn't surprise me if he did. Some Pokemons does have a feel of what kind of trainer they want. Call it some sort of chemistry instinct I guess? Quite numbers of Pokemons are like that."
