Five millennia ago, the region of Ageos was the most advanced civilization in the world. With cutting-edge technology, citizens were able to befriend and bond with Pokémon that the rest of the world considered too dangerous to handle. With such terrifying power at his disposal, the emporer of Ageos hoped to control the gods themselves, but his efforts were swiftly haulted when three Legendary Pokémon descended and destroyed the region, leaving nothing but an ancient black Obelisk behind.

An open-air amphitheater built around a large grove of Magnolia trees, Magnolia's Pokémon Contests are known for attracting large crowds. Sofia, the Gym Leader, frequently enters high-ranking Contests here, and helps out with judging lower-ranked ones when needed.

This amphitheater, built in the southeast corner of the city, is an open-air Gym set in a garden of Magnolia trees perpetually in bloom. The trees form a labyrinth.
