Two months have passed since he caught him along with Armure, Blinder became comfortable around Armand and the other Pokemon and while he was still rambunctious, he became a bit loyal towards his new trainer. Lately, though, he started to grow a bit big, which was the same size that his species were known for. Because of this, the trainer decided to try testing out his capabilities as a flying mount, and what better way to do that was to take him to the Training Grounds. So there they were, staring at the poles, an artificial turf, and a small maze. Armand was already wearing the safety gear that the staff provided along with Blinder's mount gear. Taking a deep breath, Armand adjusted his Skarmory's gear before he jumped onto his back. However, before he took off, he then hummed in thought. "Josh just called that he was going to train here with his Aerodactyl earlier. I wonder if he might be late or he already finished it." He then sighed and stared at the flying obstacle course ahead. "Regardless, maybe we should wait for them to arrive..."However, his Skarmory had some other ideas as before he could remove himself from his back, Blinder quickly took off and dashed towards the course. xi1pAE2J [Score: 0/100] Word Count: 213 Post Count: 1 Total Word Count: 213 Tags: Josh Devlin Note: I'm using the roll code instead of preview roll for this thread.

Indeed, Josh was running a bit late. He had chosen a bad time to come into town; there was a rather large car show at the hotel he was staying at. Not only were there a lot of attendees going in and out of the parking lot, but the largest parking lot had been cleared for the car show itself. He did make it to the training facility, though, and was familiar with the aerial course he would be bringing a new Pokémon to. Once he was through registration for Meteos, Josh quickly sighted Armand and his Skarmory, waving to him from Ares' back. The Charmeleon was in a surprisingly good mood today, ready to do some battles on the other side of the training facility. "Sorry I'm late," he apologized to Armand while releasing Meteos, his Aerodactyl would couldn't help but grin. "Duggar's was super crowded and one of their registers wasn't working; took me almost an hour just to get a chicken sandwich," he explained. "Plus you gotta wait an hour after eating before taking off."
With that, Josh dismounted Inky, switched over to his Aerodactyl's back, and flipped his visor down. "Ready for takeoff," he called out to Armand, taking a deep breath as the smiling fossil Pokémon spread his large wings. Flight atop this Pokémon would certainly be a lot less stable than with Bladestorm... kJ5WoOwlp_Armand Leclair {WC: 232} {PC: 1} {Pt: 87/80}

Armand couldn't help but chuckle at Josh's excuse. Now that he mentioned it though, he did see a crowd of people watching several displays of cars nearby, so going home might be a problem. But enough about that as he got some other issues that he wasn't chuckling this time. Namely, his Skarmory suddenly took off before he could give him the signal. Due to this, he hung onto the reins of his mount as he tried not to fall from his back. However, to his surprise, the Armor Bird Pokemon not only flew through the poles without accidentally touching them but he passed through the rings before he did an aileron roll and cawed with full confidence. "Geez, Blinder. I know you're excited to fly with me, but can you try to tone down your excitement a little bit?" On one hand, he was impressed at his natural talent as a flyer. On the other though, he was concerned that his wild personality might affect his status as his flying mount. In any case, he had to control him if he wanted to avoid any accidents along the way. Blinder's attitude aside, he then turned to Josh who was flying with his Aerodactyl by his side. "How about you, Josh? You gotten a bit dizzy, haven't you?"cteK0TqK [Score: 79/100] Word Count: 218 Post Count: 2 Total Word Count: 431 Tags: Josh Devlin

With a strong leap and a thrust of his giant wings that startled Josh, the two were airborne. He kept Meteos away from the ring course that Blinder had expertly flown through, instead slowly learning how to keep the prehistoric predator as stable as possible in flight. While it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, it was still far more jostling than Bladestorm's flight was. It was particularly noticeable when gaining altitude.
The rest, Josh quickly found, was similar to controlling Bladestorm; with Meteos' wings more actively generating thrust than the glide-focused flight of a Skarmory, he didn't have to focus on pitch at all. He did have to start commanding banking earlier to make turns, though it was an adjustment he quickly made.
Once he felt comfortable with making turns, Josh thought of why he named his Aerodactyl Meteos. The two ascended quickly, Josh keeping his eyes on the center of the training area as long as possible. Meteos brought his wings in, diving to the ground headfirst with amazing speed. Once gravity had done its work, the rock-type outstretched his wings again and beat them powerfully toward the ground, the updraft slowing their rate of descent to one where an easy landing was possible. The rider swayed back and forth after the two touched ground. Dizzy was an understatement...
Thread end.
