Once Shalin was far south enough to reach the trail descending into Roch Canyon, she started to get rather warm on Caprice's back. While Ninetales were fantastic mounts for such arid conditions, having the claws to grip almost any rocky surface, it did get toasty after a while, particularly when the fire-type was in a chipper mood. While it would be very fun to go sliding down the canyon and cutting the trail's corners, one mistake could get her badly hurt. She had an alternative, though; it was warm enough for Queen Zing's muscles to properly function.
Switching her Ninetales out for the affectionate Beedrill, the bug-type immediately hugged her trainer upon release, of course taking care not to accidentally sting her in the process. The girl put her earplugs in as soon as her Pokémon let her go, then she mounted up and smiled, watching the menacing, yellow insect's wings disappear just before taking flight. She made a couple of sharp tugs on the wasp's reins, laughing as her ride made quick maneuvers in tandem with the commands. Tensing her grip substantially, Shalin leaned downward on her mount, Queen Zing outstretching both of her stings and diving at high speed down the canyon. "Wahoo!" the blonde's distorted voice echoed, her ride's wings whipping up quite the dust cloud beneath them from buzzing at full speed.

A Random Event Happened
As you descent with your Beedrill, you found that what's ahead of you was... was filled with sands. Not only that, the sands are moving. Some even have mini shovel on top of their head. Some even have buckets. The sand moved around without any care in the world... and that's when you noticed someone seem to be waving at you from atop of a Torterra on a slightly elevated piece of land! They seem to be in trouble, or maybe they have something to say to you... would you approach them? Or would you prefer to ignore them? At the moment it's hard to say whether they're suspicious or not though... But from their uniform, you can see that they're at least dressed for exploration around this area, with water bottle, a huge backpack, and clothes that does not easily let sands come inside.

It was difficult for Shalin to see beneath her, what with how fast her Pokémon was moving. She certainly couldn't hear anything over the loudly-humming insect she was atop. The sand beneath her was indeed moving, but she though it was dust and sand being kicked up from Queen Zing's wake. What was clear when she descended closer to the ground was that someone was in trouble, waving at her and shouting at her. While she couldn't hear the individual's words, it was apparent from their facial expression that they were in trouble.
The intimidating-looking, but friendly, three-barbed wasp hovered down to the height of the Torterra's tree. "I'm gonna hop off - you get this person to safety and come back for me!" she commanded by shouting over the wings, though she could barely hear her own voice. Queen Zing got the gist, though, prepared to jump next to the obviously-trained Torterra and execute her plan.

You met a new Person
Sending Beedrill would bewilder the person on top of Torterra. They doesn't seem to know what to do when Queen Zing approached, but seem to look glad... Only when Shalin hopped down that they seem to know what's going on. "Oh wait, no no, there's no need of that! I'm... admittedly just in need of a share of provision. I brought a lot of water bottle, but I ended up forgetting to pack extra meals for myself! My Pokemon is a bit too hungry to move, you see... Poor George. Don't worry, baby. I'll make sure to strike a good deal."
The figure turned out to be a woman, who looked in her late or mid twenties. She's dark skinned with very curly brown hair. The hair parted into two unbraided pigtails that trails to her back. A lock of her hair is highlighted green. She looked friendly, if not a bit worn out from being on top of her old Torterra.
"Hello! Nice to meet you. Name's Breonne Hawkins! You can say I'm an archeologist, or a historian, but I'm more of a Pokemon Researcher, really. Anyway, um... this might be awkward, but would you like to trade some of your food with any of these item of mine?"
--------- Breonne offers you to change about 130 pen worth of your food with one of the following: Super Potion x 3 Moomoo Milk x 1 Burn Heal x 3 and Awakening x 3 Revive x 2
Should you accept, 130 Pen will be taken out from your wallet. You can also negotiate further.

Though she could barely hear the woman until Queen Zing's wings stopped, Shalin got the gist of the conversation. While the meeting was a bit awkward (granted, it was nothing unusual for her to have awkward meetings), she wasn't going to turn down helping someone in need. "Hi!" she greeted back. "I'm Shalin. Shalin Nariya, wildest rider this side of Ageos! That's...kind of what I'm here for too! This is Queen Zing, one of my most loyal partners!"
Shalin couldn't help but shrug when Breonne told her the predicament she was in. "I wasn't sure how long I'd be out here, so I might have brought too much. This works out, though! You said you have Revive? That's a good trade by me!" With that, she dug through her provisions and gave Breonne some of her spare food for the trip. "Should be plenty for your Torterra, too."

The Trade has been Acknowledged
Breonne let a sigh of relief as she accepted your traded provision and handed you two revives in turn. "Thank you for your generosity. It means a lot really." she thanked you before patting her Torterra's head and fed him some of the berries. "Here, big boy, open up! That's a good boy... whew. We'll rest a bit more until you're ready to go, alright? Anyway, thank for that again. I'm saved. Honestly... it's hard when you don't exactly have any flying Pokemons here. Although Beedrill only can hover, at least they're much better than anything truly land bound you know?"
She swept her hand across the sandy grounds. "...Palossand and Sandygast, most of them! And if not them, then it's quicksand! Talk about crazy! Anyway, what are you doing out here? It's not quite a common part of the route to go to... only some treasure hunters or researchers heads to this part... Or are you one yourself? Hmmm, but you doesn't looks like any of those reckless treasure hoarders..."

Shalin was happy to see Breonne's Torterra moving again after it chowed down on the highly nutritious cluster of Berries. When she mentioned she didn't have a flying Pokémon, the green-dressed rider smiled. "I have another flying Pokémon," she said, "but it's not exactly the most conventional flying Pokémon." Queen Zing carefully walked to the other side of the platform before Shalin released Flit from his Poké Ball. the great big Yanma about to start hovering before noticing Shalin didn't have her ear protection in.
Shalin couldn't help but smile when Breonne mentioned the idea of her being a treasure hunter. "You could say...I hunt treasure of a different kind. Treasure like Queen Zing and Flit here. If you need a hand, they'll take us over the quicksand! Just make sure you wear these, or you'll go deaf!" She offered Breonne her backup set of earplugs before scampering back toward her Beedrill and climbing atop the bug-type.

The Conversation Continues
"Oh no, there's no need of that, really," Breonne smiled. "I'm pretty much done with what I'm about to do. Oh so you're looking for Pokemons? Well hey, then I guess I can share you some interesting tip... As I told you before, Shalin, I'm a researcher! But specifically, I'm a Regional Form researcher. I'm always curious of how on earth does each Pokemon in different Region got their own form. Isn't that interesting? But here's the thing... For some strange reason, in Ageos, most Pokemons, which usually only available in other region, somehow exist here! I had no idea why is that, but many theorized it may because Ageos' land property is similar to Faraway Island in Guyana. Which means the land is very "homey" for the Pokemons to live in.
..Yet is that the truth? Apparently there are suggestion that this... isn't entirely true. There might be a human factor at play here... Or at least that's what the researcher believes. If you visit Ageos National Museum, you might find some books detailing about recent finding... mainly apparently ancient civilization of Ageos researches evolutionary stones. They believe that there are more than these evolutionary stones than met the eyes, and thus creates... different kind of evolutionary stones. Not the Mega Stones either. I guess you can say they're something... more."
Breonne's expression looked serious for a moment before she laughed it all off. "Oh what am I doing telling you all of this mumbo jumbos? Anyway, here," she took out a yellow crystal. At first, it feels like Thunder Stone, yet it's obvious that the power already diminished. "It's found a lot around here. This might be a key that I'm not speaking all hogwash! If you want to look for treasures though..."
Breonne would point at some quicksands "...Those, apparently one of it leads toward a hidden chamber. But thing is I don't know which one of them would lead to the hidden chamber. One wrong step and you could die. I wouldn't suggest it. I'll be going back to Shire myself! Gotta report to the young profesor! Bet she's getting annoyed at me ahaha! So while I'm here, do you have any other question?"
Clause
If you're going to look for this hidden treasure, you must end your post with a <roll> while prodding at the quicksands. The impossibly high stake of looking a quicksand that leads somewhere definitely sounds like a waste of time at best and dangerous at worst. It also could be a Sandygast or Palossand, which will absorb one energy from one of your Pokemon. However, should you manage to roll high enough... there might be amazing treasures waiting at the end.
Be careful, Traveler!

"Regional forms?" Shalin asked. "Oh, like how some Ninetales are ice-types instead of fire-types? I've heard of those before. You are right, though, I haven't run into any unusual-looking Pokémon here, other than some are really big...like these two!" Flit's wings were still fluttering, but now fast enough to make noise; he was simply trying to keep his balance on the slightly-shifting platform.
"A human factor?" Shalin asked, curious. "Like...humans inducing...what's the word..." The word "physiological" simply wouldn't come to her tongue. "I can't think of it. But you think humans are making the Pokémon do that? That just sounds terrible!" The yellow crystal Breonne had, shaped like Thunder Stone, clearly had its evolutionary power depleted.
While Breonne had fully due concern over Shalin's well being, given the quicksand near their side of the canyon could be one of the Pokémon she mentioned, that concern wasn't going to stop her from unearthing clues about Ageos' ancient past...and maybe she could get a rare Pokémon out of it, too.
Once Breonne had left, Shalin put her earplugs back in. "Alright, Queen Zing, wrap your legs around me, alright? And be careful not to sting me! I'm going to look around the sand for this chamber she spoke of. If I sink too deep, pull me out! Flit, I might need you for backup, so be ready!" With that, the Beedrill reluctantly did as asked, Shalin grabbing onto the bases of the foreleg stings for support. While it was dangerous, it was the best hold she was going to get. One slip of the hand, and she could end up needing quite the strong Antidote!

Oh You Poor Soul
Your first attempt of doing the dive ended up with a really angry Palossand to spit you right out of its body. Not only you feel terribly drained from being touched by the ghost Pokemon's fury, your Pokemon also got damaged from the sudden spit attack which have sand on them. Now, it's coming out and standing in front of you, ready to attack. You might notice that while vertically it's not imposing, horizontally it is imposing at how wide it is. But! You also noticed that the place where it has left has now been cleared. There is no hole there at all, just a slightly deeper crater bed that the Palossand used to occupy. Enough of that however. A pressing matter is in front of you! The Palossand is now trying to attack you aggressively! STATS

The Palossand that spit Shalin out expelled her with so much force that even Queen Zing couldn't hold onto her. Thankfully, Flit was there for backup, helping his trainer escape from the Sand Tomb attack! While she wasn't exactly unscathed, she was at least safe for now. Queen Zing, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky; she was trapped in the ghost-type's maw, head first. She frantically flailed her rear about, extending her stinger in random directions and even connecting with it a couple of times, but to no avail.
Seeing little choice, Shalin released Levy into the cavity that the Palossand was occupying, the Milotic stretching high to avoid potentially being buried by the Palossand's body. While the film of water coursing over his skin let him breathe, the Milotic was still mostly immobile. He opened his mouth at the ground-type, emitting a Water Pulse toward one of its towers. The serpent's aim was slightly off, splashing Queen Zing as well, but still got the job done!
The chaotically-flowing water drove Palossand dizzy, Queen Zing's flailing to escape the ethereal maw becoming slowly more effective. She surely would have been able to escape by now if it weren't for Sand Tomb! It briefly regained control of its senses long enough to spit Queen Zing out and latch onto Levy instead, chomping into the water-type's soft scales and replenishing its own life force with a well-placed Mega Drain!
While Levy was becoming dizzy himself from having so much of her will to fight sucked away, it was becoming clear that the Palossand was going to be outlasted. Changing tactics, the ghost-type enveloped itself and Levy in a faint, sinister light. Shalin reached for Levy's Poké Ball, but it was too late; she couldn't call off the Water Pulse attack in time. The sandcastle Pokémon collapsed after being battered by another wave of water. The instant it did so, the Milotic likewise fell limp, as did the now-motionless Beedrill.
In a bit of a bind, Shalin recalled both her fainted Pokémon and thought hard about how she wanted to approach the rest of the expedition. She had a limited supply of Revive, and bringing both these Pokémon back would take almost all of it. Having two flying Pokémon was integral, though, and she needed Levy with how many ground-types there were around here. She took the time to administer both Revive and Potion to her bruised team, giving them time to recover while she surveyed the rest of the area.

Well that Gone to 100 Real Quick
Just as the Palossand crumpled to deflated sand, you could hear the whistling wind now sounding much clearer, which is strange considering the Sandygasts and Palossand around here was moving so much that there at least sounds of their movement, like something scraping through the ground... but this time around? It feels like a standstill... It would suddenly dawn on you that the entire crowd now looking at you as if you just killed its member (no you did not. But it sure does feels like that.)
...And what are they going to do? Swarm you of course! Get ready for Round 2!A Horde of SANDYGAST Has Appeared! What will you do?

Queen Zing and Levy had barely any time to relax before another wave of wild Pokémon surrounded Shalin. The multiple small flags poking out of the quicksand was indicative that it was more than one Pokémon. It appeared the Palossand that Levy had brawled with wasn't alone - an entire family, including several Sandygast, presented themselves as avengers!
With her water-type still recovering from terrible wounds, the only effective means of battle Shalin felt she had was Caprice. She released the Ninetales as well as Flit, scampering aboard the dragonfly and darting away from the action. She needed to be out of range of her Pokémon's Heat Wave, which in theory would be able to roast all of the Sandygast and leave the fire-type with a similar battle to the one Levy just went through. The fox's golden tails shimmered, a loud cry coming from her mouth as she discharged a pulse of searing heat from her furry body.
All of the Sandygast around her faded away, leaving Caprice in a one-on-one battle...but at a serious disadvantage. The remaining Palossand covered the entire platform and rapidly shifted its body back and forth, creating a large tremor that knocked the Ninetales off the platform and into the surrounding quicksand. That was Shalin's cue to recall her prized land mount before she suffered irreversible damage; those wounds from the sharp, swirling quicksand looked bad as they were.
Not in any situation to continue the battle as is, Shalin had Flit fly away from the platform and allow the Pallosand time to consider whether it really wanted to defend this territory so badly. If anything, it would also buy Levy a little more time in case the Palossand was adamant on staying put.

You Noticed Something Strange
There's something that the Palossand seem to be doing as it refused to even budge from its place. If anything it looked at you with malice, as if you're an invader. The defeated Sandygast and Palossand now no longer present, seem to fade and whisked somewhere else... but as for this one... well this oen seem to be very intent in defeating you no matter what. Thanks to your elevated position however you noticed that there are a single hole that looked like an entryway big enough for you to enter. However, you also noticed that the Palossand is protectively lingering around that hole.
What to do?

The worst case Shalin could think of came to fruition: the Palossand wasn't going anywhere. Levy would just have to clean up Caprice's work. She lobbed Levy's Poké Ball to the platform below, Flit circling above and out of the ground-type's range. When Water Pulse and Mega Drain clashed with one another on the platform far below, Shalin winced. It was not from seeing the strong attacks collide, but from internal irritation. She had been aloft on the giant dragonfly for quite some time, and the constant rattling was starting to make her feel sore.
Upon seeing direct confrontation with the Milotic wasn't working, Palossand formed a wide arc with its body, slamming its heavy body into the platform from one side, then another. The shaking ground banged Levy up quite a bit and made it hard to aim the follow-up Water Pulse. As his strength faded, he simply sprayed water all around. Already weakened from one aquatic surge, the wild backed down after a second, both of them on the verge of fainting. Flit landed on the platform once more and allowed Shalin to dismount wobblily, her legs and arms both feeling like circulation to them had been cut off.
