Shalin couldn't help but notice the Training Grounds' attendant flinch when he saw the Pokémon she was bringing to the course, the young man at the desk ready to cover his ears at any moment. Once she had signed in, Shalin entered the facility proper and was rather impressed. While it wasn't terribly busy, what with it being mid-morning on a Sunday, there were enough people for the ambient noise of clacking hooves, pounding paws, and the like to fill the arena. Her Pokémon was about to drown all of that noise out, though. The girl made her way over to an unoccupied course with one S-curve but otherwise straightforward.
----
Shalin's Pokémon silently fluttered, her red, compound eyes blinking in anticipation. The girl didn't understand why her certifications from Johto wouldn't pass in Ageos. After all, she was the self-proclaimed wildest rider in Johto! Government regulations, feh. Better not cause a ruckus. Well, a legal ruckus, anyway - her Beedrill would inevitably cause one just from taking off and flying. The blonde popped her earplugs in, then climbed into the bug-type's yellow-and-black saddle that blended in with her warning stripes.
With a gentle pat on the head indicating for them to fly just off the ground, Queen Zing's flutter quickly grew to their telltale, menacing-sounding hum - the only thing she could hear now. At least it wasn't deafeningly loud with her earplugs in! She leaned lower on her Pokémon once they were hovering above the course, the Beedrill stretching her two foreleg stings outward and accelerating down the opening stretch. The grass surrounding the track swayed violently from the bug-type's wake, many other trainers tilting their heads toward the "crazy" girl and her highly unusual mount. She leaned to her right to prepare for rounding the first corner, not slowing down one bit; flying bug-types were known for having nearly unlimited agility, after all.

Shalin's skin was tingling, her hair starting to stand on end - the vibration was a lot more powerful than she remembered it being! She would get used to it in time, though - it had been a long flight to Ageos, after all! At least her commands seemed to be on point, cresting the apex of the turn without flying over the track's inner bounds. Bug-types were notorious for having some of the fastest reaction times among Pokémon, and it has long been speculated that many bug-types see the world in slow motion compared to humans. The moment she either leaned into a turn or tugged on the Beedrill's reins, they were turning. A smile on her face, she weaved back and forth across the straight stretch before the S-curve. If only she could see her Beedrill's smile that mirrored hers.
Just before reaching the quick turns, Shalin tightened her hold on the Beedrill's reins, ready to make two quick tugs in opposite directions. This would need to be carefully timed to stay on the course without slowing down. She kept a firm hold with her legs, then pulled hard with her left hand, then her right shortly afterward.

Shalin let out a loud grunt from both the spike in vibration during the turns, as well as the whiplash-inducing darting motion. Was she really this rusty at flying on an insect? A little dizzy, the green-dressed girl let go with her right hand and gently pushed down on her mount's head - a signal to land. Queen Zing did as instructed, landing and resting her wings. A woozy, tingling Shalin took the chance to catch her breath as she started to regain feeling in her extremities. "Are you okay?" A young, brave trainer on the next track over asked, his Zebstrika impatient and wanting to get back to the track. It took a bit for Shalin to notice the male teen trying to get his attention.
"What did you say?" Shalin asked, removing her earplugs briefly. The other trainer repeated himself. "I'll be okay - just need a quick rest." A few minutes after he left them to their own business, Shalin put her earplugs back in and took back to the air. Dust flew away from the two in all directions as Queen Zing started to hover, again outstretching her swings during what felt like rapid acceleration.

This time, the bobbing up and down felt natural, Shalin easily able to handle the shaking. Her confidence only growing as she crossed the starting line, she coaxed her mount to fly as high as she was comfortable with (which, for a Beedrill, wouldn't be very high), then yanked harg with a tug on her mount's right. Nearly silencing her right wing, Queen Zing briefly twirled from working her left wing extra hard. The two landed after that, Shalin raising her twitching hands in joy.
