At long last, Shalin's primary land mount had cleared customs, and not a moment too soon for the cold weather. The blonde, in a fall jacket, walked up to the training center's front desk and registered her Ninetales, Caprice, for a run on their practice track she was quickly becoming familiar with. Two or three laps around the ovaloid, and she would be all set for the winter. The girl released her Ninetales, whose eyes flashed back and forth between red and pink. She was ready to run!
"Hold up, Caprice," Shalin interjected. "Lemme check your harness one more time." She circled around the fire-type fox, whose gaze followed her as she examined the riding equipment carefully. "Good thing we checked - one of your straps is really loose! Hold still and lemme fix that real quick..." Despite her anxiety to get her certificate, Caprice stood still while her trainer tightened the harness to be snug but not uncomfortable. With that, the green-clad female swung aboard the graceful-looking fox. With a light kick to her sides, the two were off, neither of them affected by the cold wind; heat radiating from the Ninetales' warm skin keeping them both comfortable, at least with respect to temperature.

It was just like old times; the two were as synchronized as ever despite a long wait to get ahold of a customs agent and clear her for entry into Ageos. The Ninetales and rider effortlessly pulled off risky moves. The first, and certainly not the last, was pulling a donut on the widest section of the course, thanks to sharp claws and strong legs enabling such a long and tight turn. She did need to be careful not to do that too often, and especially be careful on harder surfaces or surfaces like wood; it wore down the claws quickly, and in the case of a wooden surface, could snap the nail off entirely. As they rounded the corner to the long stretch of road where they started, Shalin leaned into the wind and squeezed Caprice's sides, coaxing a big burst of speed out of her. "Wahoo!" she cried as the golden tails flew parallel to the ground. A grin behind her closed lips, Shalin yanked on the fox's reins with most of her strength as soon as they crossed the line. The mount let out a cry, screeching to a stop; her claws absorbed most of the heat from friction and kept her paws intact. The Ninetales suddenly reared higher than Shalin thought was possible for her kind, standing almost completely vertical. Not seeing it coming, she tumbled out of the saddle and onto the ground. While it ended with her on the ground, she had shown plenty of prowess with the fire-type to obtain a certificate for her.
