Participants: Tetsu and Ettie Chain Level: 1 Plot Prompts: No exact prompt, just Tetsu would like to find a perfect training ground to set his base, and then train his Pokemon! He doesn't mind any kind of distraction
Here he is in emerald forest. Whew! He haven't been here a lot before, only on the edges and such because the customs haven't cleared most of his Pokemons. The borders are pretty strict in what kind of species that you can bring now that he think of it, but it's probably for the best. After all, invasive specieses can bring harm to the ecosystem. Ah well, that aside, though, he's happy to be walking around with four Pokemons that he knows so well.
First is Riku of course. The Riolu is walking beside him, looking around in wonder of the new sights. It's quite amazing! It's different from route 1, and the smell is different too! He made a gesture at Tetsu, pointing at his own eyes, then makes a sweeping motion at the forest. So he's saying that he should see the aura around this place huh. Well, that's not bad! Right, he probably should activate aura sight as he walks.
Second is Rutile, who keeps yapping endlessly, telling the rest of the group to get on with it already. The place is a bit too easygoing for her! She want to explore! Listen to the pack leader here! The Rockruff keep telling the rest to just follow her and let her lead. Only Azalea the Frillish humored her, but that's because she's worried of what would befall the poor Rockruff if she goes too fast. Trailing behind the rest slightly is Evergarden, the Aron that just love nature. She's the embodiment of the phrase "take it easy, smell flower, and relax"... because that's what she's doing at the moment. With flower crown above her head, the Aron looked more organic than most other.
"It kinda feels like picnic!" Tetsu commented. "But I guess we should find a good place before it's sunset! Wouldn't be nice if we have to camp somewhere unfavorable after all! Hmmm, I'll make a map I guess! Let's see this is around late morning... north is over... there." With the help of the sun, he pinpointed the cardinal direction and scribbled it on the edge of a page of his notebook.
That's a good choice, Riku approved with a nod.

Ah, the forest; it was one of Ettie's favorite types of areas to tread through with her original pack, due to how much fun it was to just try and climb from tree to tree! Even now, she would be perched on the lowest branches of the deciduous trees that made up the Emerald Forest; giggling and smiling down at Tetsu and his group as she tried her best to hop and leap and scamper from branch to branch to keep up with the assembled group. She could hear Rutile yipping on about wanting to get a move on, which would prompt another giggle from the young girl, and she would also nod in agreement as Tetsu commented about finding a good place to rest.
"I imagine anyplace with a big nice den would work!" Ettie chirped, adding "Mama always looked for places with dens - either old dens that nobody's living in anymore, or places she could dig one out! They're a great source of shelter, a place to store food or supplies, and easy to protect from other wild pokemon!" Leaning over, she would peer over at the map that Tetsu was beginning to scribble down, from her perch above. "I dunno if we could dig out a shelter - Mama and a few of my way older siblings and aunts and uncles were pretty big, so they could dig out lots really fast - but I bet there's probably a nice abandoned den somewhere in this forest!"
As Tetsu and Ettie conversed though, the young girl's pack would be eagerly idling about. Having picked up a few pokemon from the nearby Shire Town, Princess the Snubbull, Duchess the Electrike, and Ruffian the Lillipup would be alongside Anne as the foursome sniffed about at their surroundings and idled with Tetsu's pokemon. <So many smells! Good smells!> Duchess would yip, her tail wagging eagerly. <Want to know all the smells!>
<Forest seems cozy..> Princess would nod, briefly yawning as she stuck to Duchess' side. She was sleepy - but otherwise awake enough to be willing to walk with the group this time around - as she glanced at her surroundings through halflidded eyes. <... Think moss makes soft bed?>
<Why think about moss when can think about other pokemon?> Ruffian interjected, puffing his chest out confidently. With a place such as this, it was sure to be teeming with wild pokemon who were down to have a fight..! <Want to get big and strong; will be biggest and strongest around!>
Anne, though, would simply sigh and shake her head; sticking at Duchess' side, just to make sure that the hyperactive Electrike didn't wander off too far from the pack. <Just keep eyes out. Looking for place for den and camp.> She'd remind the other pups - to which Princess and Duchess would both make wordless yips of confirmation, even if Ruffian would only roll his eyes in response.
Ettie, meanwhile, could only giggle. Everyone seemed to be in a pretty lively mood, overall..!

Something has happened! What will you do? Tetsu Asterite EttieOnce the two set off into the forest, they'd find it oddly quiet. One would expect to hear chirping and rustling of nearby Pokemon, but there was only the rustle of the breeze through the trees. Soon enough, they'd come across a human. Not just any human, however, but Professor Pear herself. She paced anxiously back and forth along the path into the forest. That is, until she realized there were people coming. Turning to see Tetsu and Ettie coming her way, her expression changed to a mix of relief and hope. "Greetings, travelers! I'm so sorry to bother you, but could I ask for your assistance with something? I am the region's Pokemon Professor, Pear. There's a new trainer in this forest that informed me of difficulties she ran into, but my usual team of Pokemon for heading into such areas is predisposed. Do you think you could try to find her and deliver these potions to her? I'd be happy to offer a reward for interrupting your days," she offered, the anxiety creeping back into her expression even as she pulled out the healing sprays she had mentioned. They weren't your usual Potions, either. The bottles were plain white, clearly a special mix that she hadn't bothered to disguise or mark in any specific way.

"Hmm, an old den... or a cave huh? I guess that can work. I really want a clearing though, a big one that I can put all my training stuff and make several different courses on!" Tetsu moved his arms to illustrate how he wanted it to look. "And then I'll probably make a cabin! Making a big one would be nice, especially one where friends can stay over! Or for the Pokemons to enter in when it's rainy outside! But for the meantime a den would do... oh, right, Ettie! If you're getting tired, just tell me alright? I can carry you!"
To dig it though... "Nah, digging a den is probably too hardcore for us. I mean Rutile is big, but even then she's not a Lycanroc. She probably unable to dig all that much."
The Rockruff barked, as if scolding the boy for giving up too early. Riku only sighed and barked back in retort, something along the line of Rutile is getting ahead of herself. Azalea... suddenly floated back to Tetsu. Hm? The Frillish touched her "lips" as if trying to tell something. Hm? Tetsu looked at Riku, who in turn looked at Ettie.
<Forest, quiet, says Azalea. Too quiet. She no like.> he would explain.
Just as the group goes in deeper, Rutile was the first to notice a presence! She barked, as if warning the group of the strange person! What are they doing really, pacing back and forth like that? If you're lost, you should just climb the tree and look for the way! Humans are such strange creatures somehow!
"Hey, Rutile! Don't bark suddenly like that! I'm so sorry, uh, ma'am. She got quite the personality!"
Oh! So this is the famous Professor Pear! "Oh, hello Professor! Nice to meet you!" he... immediately noticed that the professor's facial expression changed somewhat when she saw them. Hope, relief, perhaps? He was about to go on miles but immediately caught himself after noticing the change and instead let the professor speak. So... basically... there's a problem here, huh... A trainer in trouble? As someone who wanted to be ranger in the future, Tetsu obviously already going to say yes anyway.
"I see, that's dire then. Ettie, sorry, but can we help this trainer in distress first then? I think it's also getting two birds with one stone too! We can look around while helping! And so, uh... Professor, do you have any personal items of this trainer perhaps? Anything that can be used to track them?"
Sure Tetsu have Aura Sight, but... he don't have Aura Tracking. It's kinda different thing altogether.

"Let's look for both, then!" Ettie would chirp with an optimistic hue, hopping down from her perch in the trees. "I bet we could find a nice den or cave, with plenty of space for your courses outside it!" Deftly, she would land next to Tetsu; her aura ears perked, and tail wagging, all the while. The mention of a cabin, though, would prompt Ettie to tilt her head a bit curiously; humming in thought. "... What if we had a space that's both a cabin, AND a den, both at once?" She'd question with a giggle, grinning widely. The only question, then, would be how they'd go about actually making it.
At the offer of being carried though, Ettie would giggle again. "It's okay, Tetsu! This is pretty slow and steady - I don't think I'll be tiring out anytime soon." She'd respond, her tail swishing. She was used to long steady treks like this, after all, whenever she and her family would move from place to place!
Meanwhile, there was Riku's and Rutile's banter over digging a den - to which Anne would interject <Could dig dens our size, maybe. Not dens their size.> To get her point across, she would gesture her tail towards Ettie and Tetsu. <Not dens big enough for everyone.>
As Riku soon mentioned how Azalea noticed that the forest was too quiet though, the young girl steps would slow a little as she - and the pups, by extension, began to listen to their surroundings. "You're right; it's super quiet..." She'd murmur to the others, glancing about. "Where'd all the pokemon go..?"
The unnerving silence seemed to put a damper on Duchess' mood as well; the young Electrike hanging near her Snubbull sister. <Where everyone go..?> She'd question, obviously seconding Ettie's sentiments.
<Clearly scared of us!> Ruffian interjected, puffing his chest out confidently.
<Even scents stale...> Princess added as she sniffed the air; her sleepy demeanor having shifted into something more guarded and unsure. All she could smell, really, was... <Think smell h-->
But before the Snubbull could get anything out, Rutile would bark to alert everyone - questioning Professor Pear, as the assembled group came across her. While Anne and Ruffian both hung back at Ettie's side, Duchess (and Princess by extension, wanting to remain near her sister) would dart on ahead to greet Pear - tail wagging wildly as the young Electrike yipped <Friend! Hi! Hello friend! Hello!>
Ettie couldn't help but giggle at Duchess' enthusiasm over meeting a new person - all the while listening to Professor Pear's request for a helping hand. Tetsu would have no hesitance in accepting it - and the young girl, too, would nod in agreement! "If someone needs help, we can help them together, Tetsu!" She'd agree - adding "It wouldn't be too hard for us to search for a trainer, while we search for a place to set up at!"
As far as the question of tracking this trainer went, though... Glancing down towards the canines that she and Tetsu both had, Ettie would suggest "Maybe Riku and Rutile could try sniffing them out, along with my pack?" Ruffian even knew Odor Sleuth, which could probably help in that regard! "If a trainer's been around here recently, it shouldn't be hard for them to pick out any human-y scents, and even scents of pokemon you might not find here!"
The box of seemingly-potions, though, would prompt a curious expression from Ettie - the young girl taking one of the bottles to sniff at it (though she would be careful to not tamper with anything. These seemed ultra important, after all!) Duchess and Princess, too, would both briefly sniff over the box and the bottles - investigating these strange objects with clear interest.
Anne and Ruffian, however, would both already be sniffing at the group's surroundings without any further prompting - seeing if either of them would be able to catch any whiff of any unusual scents in the area.

Something has happened! What will you do? Tetsu Asterite EttiePear smiled faintly at the excitement of the Pokemon and leaned over slightly to give Duchess some pets, careful not to rub in a way that would generate too much static. She'd give the same type of attention to any of the others that came up to her as she hummed thoughtfully at the question proposed. Then she gave a disappointed shake of her head and a sigh. "Unfortunately, I don't have anything of hers. She has pretty much all of her regular equipment and gear with her. If it helps, though, she usually lets her Helioptile travel out of his Pokeball with her. Since that species isn't native here, it should be somewhat helpful if you can find the scent," she offered what information she could. "Thank you so much for your assistance. I wish you luck. Be careful."

Hmm, a cave den with a space enough for training ground. Honestly, that's kind of amazing if that could be true... He can imagine how it looked like though. However, that sort of den probably used to host quite the big colony... perhaps, something like Kangaskhan? Hmm, that would be interesting. Would be nice too if it's near water source. That way, the aquatic Pokemons can also play there. Well he can also make a manmade pond.
...A space that's bot Cabin and Den at the same time? Tetsu laughed. "Hey, not a bad preposition! I think that'd be like something like a mine shaft though, with lot of rooms! I think it'll be more interesting, personally! I might ask my Drilbur to do it one day!"
Rutile meanwhile seem to find the idea interesting too! She barked in agreement, finding mine-like house personally her liking! She'll help make it! Riku on the other hand seem to be a bit skeptical, as there might be chances of Pokemon living in such place. He doesn't mind fighting invader, but if he have to force Pokemons out of their home, he personally hate that.
Now returning to moment after Professor Pear told them what she could... First, nothing really solid to track the person with huh. That's... a pity. Tetsu hummed a bit, wondering if he should approach this in different way before the professor said that apparently this person have Helioptile out and about! Oh, that sure helps!
"You're right, Ettie! Hmm, Helioptile. How does electric Pokemon smells?" Tetsu asked Riku. Riku barked <smells either like incoming rain or something burnt>, but of course Tetsu doesn't really understand that. But all thing considered, a Helioptile definitely will smells different from regular Pokemons around here.
"Alright then, Professor! You can leave it to us!" he assured with a fistbump to his own chest. "Right, Rutile, Riku, can I count on you?"
Rutile rolled her eyes in a "can't be helped" way while Riku already started climbing trees to get a better sight. As for the rest...
"Oofta!" Tetsu lifted up Evergarden and tossed out Schizen's Pokeball to call out the Scyther. "Schizen, Azalea, scout ahead for a Pokemon trainer with a Helioptile out! Ah, Helioptile looked like this..." he showed the picture on his Pokedex app to both of them. The two Pokemons nodded and flew ahead of the group, but not too far to avoid possible unwinnable fights.

At being petted, Duchess' fur would nonetheless crackle a little bit with the slightest amount of static - a natural result of the young Electrike having the Static ability whilst being so excited, from all the attention she was receiving from Professor Pear! It was nonetheless harmless, though; else Duchess would've been more careful about being touched. Princess, too, seemed to appreciate the touch - humming softly in contentment. This human was good.
At the mention of the trainer having a Helioptile though, Ettie would perk up - nodding. While she'd never actually seen a Helioptile before, she was sure that the pack could easily pick out the foreign pokemon's scent, from all of the other native pokemon in this area! Riku, too, seemed to have an idea of how they smell - to which the pups, and Ettie as well, would nod in understanding. "Yeah!" the young girl would chirp in agreement to Tetsu's reassurance. "We'll do our best!"
And with that, the group would be off - Anne calling <Move out! Start searching! Call if find something! Don't engage others!> with sharp barks. Duchess and Princess would both bark in affirmatives, darting into the surrounding area to begin sniffing. Ruffian, though, would grumble at being commanded like this - taking a second before he, too, would begin wandering the surrounding area to sniff about, searching for any sight of the Helioptile with Odor Sleuth! Anne would be the last to begin the search - glancing back to Ettie, stating <Let's stay close.>
Ettie would nod with this - remaining at Anne's side as the two would begin the search, as well. Glancing over to Tetsu, she'd mention "I'll let you guys handle the box - it's pretty hefty. Have Riku or Rutile give a howl if you guys find anything, and we'll come running, okay? And listen for our howls, too, if we find something!" Smiling brightly, she'd add "We'll find that trainer in no time!" as she and Anne would set off, searching about as well.

Ettie Tetsu Asterite A random event has occurred! And with that, the explorers and their Pokémon were off. Following a trail other than by scent would be incredibly difficult at this time of year, what with the forest floor inundated in leaves. Once the two got out of sight from Professor Pear, it was at least ankle-deep. At places, it was halfway to their knees! Thankfully, the members of Ettie's pack were all experts at picking up scents; they would he able to help the trainers avoid, for instance, stepping on a small Pokémon underfoot. Still, better watch your step!

Oh, division of work! Tetsu gladly accepted the box from Ettie. "Hmm, yeah, probably heavy for ya, huh?" at this point being as strong as he is sure have its perks! "So are we going to split? I guess I'll ask Rutile to howl if she find anything. Goodluck on your side!"
Once split from Ettie, Tetsu returned Evergarden to her ball. It'll be probably too hard for her to walk with her small legs... Poor girl. she was really sad returning to the Pokeball, but they're pretty much chased by time here.
"Man, that's some thick leaves," Tetsu commented, kicking some of the leaves. "I wonder if it's because it's forest, or because of the season... How was the wind speed lately?" he asked curiously. Rutile who's in the front barked at him, telling him to watch out for potential small Pokemons hiding under the leaves. Riku quickly translated to him through sign language. First he pointed at his eyes, then at Tetsu's, then downward.
"Ah, pay attention what's under. Right!"
Riku gave the boy a thumb up. He resumed looking immediately. With four Pokemons on all side, Tetsu instead focusing himself on watching what's underneath meanwhile... Aura sight is really helping in time like this. The leaves on the ground no longer have any aura, or even if it does, it'll be very thin. He can see Pokemons easier like this... as for what's ahead... Hmm, not all that much. He probably should train his aura more later.
"...If we could have walkie talkie, that would be great though," Tetsu muttered to no one in particular.

With the box handled by Tetsu, and them having a task, the collective group would be off - Ettie and her pack splitting up so that they could cover more ground. Ruffian would be on his own - as independent and confident in himself as always - whilst Princess and Duchess were lingering relatively close to one another, and Anne and Ettie stuck close to each other as well. It didn't take long for any of them to notice the thick covering of leaves that littered the forest floor - and as they noted these leaves, each of the group would have their own ways of reacting to it all.
Duchess, for one, was absolutely delighted by the leaves! Barking in excitement, she would leap forward and charge through the leaves, just to see them go flying every which way..! Princess, however, would soon catch up to (gently) scruff Duchess with her hand. <Careful of other pokemon.> She would remind her sister - her tone equally gentle, though firm.
Duchess, in response, would make a sheepish whine, even as her tail wagged - before nodding as she nuzzled Princess. <I understand!> She'd bark in acknowledgement, being more careful as she'd set back off into the leaves - sniffing around for any sign of the Helioptile. <Will be careful!> Perhaps her Static would help in drawing out the Helioptile? She certainly knew that electric pokemon tended to like hanging around her, cause of it!
Ruffian, meanwhile, was going at a steady pace through his own slice of the forest - making full use of Odor Sleuth, to pick out even the barest of scents in the area. The leaves were a frustrating impediment to the small pup, frankly; prompting him to growl as he'd occasionally fling the leaves out of the way as he moved. Where in the world was that Helioptile..??
Finally, there was Ettie and Anne; the two of them picking their way through the leaves as they looked around - hoping to see any signs of the trainer, or the Helioptile. "Hmm... Do you think the Helioptile would be small enough to be under the leaves?" The young girl would question, as she idly pushed some aside with her foot. Would climbing the trees help at all, in spotting the trainer or pokemon?
Anne, in response, would hum in thought; before responding <Maybe?> as she stuck her head under the leaves - sniffing about. So far, there weren't any leads or sign of anything; but the hardy Rockruff was nonetheless keeping her eyes and ears on the alert for any signs of the missing duo. <Keep an eye out.>
"Will do!"

Ettie Tetsu Asterite A random event has occurred!
After traveling northeast for a while, the leaves became much less deep, but there were still enough to cover the ground; it was mostly ankle-deep now. What was more unusual was the rising temperature; it started to feel more like early to mid-spring rather than late fall. The deeper they went, the more they found the leaves were still on the trees; after a couple more miles, there were very few leaves on the forest floor. Grass and Bug Pokémon normally hibernating this time of year were out and about. A couple of Butterfree were happily flitting about without a care in the world, several Shroomish and Venipede crawling underneath them. A pair of Galarian Ponyta galloped toward the two, showing no signs of stopping. Meanwhile, Duchess and Princess looked nervous as they had gone their own direction, spotting an unnerving sight when their eyes toward the trees above. There were Kakuna hanging... STATS

Well now, that's an interesting thing. The leaves are ankle deep... With Tetsu's weight it would definitely make all the more harder for his feet to not sink into this bed of leaves. Still... there are something... a bit wrong. He have no idea whether it's the climate of the place, or the seasons... or maybe it was something else altogether...
<Leaves, still on the tree> Riku muttered. Pity that Tetsu can't understand him that much, but seeing the same sight, the boy and his Pokemon definitely came to the same conclusion. Tetsu nodded. "Yeah, this is... this is weird. Like... really weird. How about if you howl and tell the other what to watch out for, Rutile?"
Rutile nodded in agreement and howled several words in, mostly about the trees and leaves, and the raising temperature. It's strange... he never saw anything like this before... Tetsu kept looking forward, hoping to get a read on this... Like... just WHAT happened here? Just then, his Aura Sight homed in to two Pokemons. They're both equally big, but what caught his attention is their power... at the moment they're more powerful than his own Pokemons. With Schizen, he can probably win, but not against two of them like this. So instead, he decided to approach them carefully.
"Hello there, such beautiful pair you are! Would you like to come with me on my journey perhaps? Any of you? Or maybe both of you? ...Actually, I'm currently looking for a trainer, a human, the same as me... there's an emergency, and it would be reassuring if, even if you don't want to join in my journey you could guide me to this person... I want to deliver these goods to them, and they need it as soon as possible. Can you please?"
Tetsu attempted befriending to both brothers! If befriending fails, Tetsu instead asks for direction to these two.

As the pups scattered deeper into the forest, they would all notice their own strange or otherwise concerning things during their search for missing trainer and helioptile alike.
The first signs would be with Ruffian, who had been able to find this strange springtime section of the forest himself - eyes gazing upwards, as he saw pokemon who would usually hibernate, flitting and wandering about without a care in the world. What in the world was going on here...? Hearing Rutile's distant howl, the Lillipup would quietly listen for a few moments, before throwing his head back and howling in response - confirming that he, too, was finding the same strange things out here.
And as Ruffian and Rutile howled, Anne and Ettie both would perk up - a bit further away from the strange springtime occurrence, but still noticing a slight change in the temperature around here. Quiet and intent, both sisters would listen closely to the two's exchange of information - about an abnormal climate, and Ruffian confirming that he sees it, too - before glancing to each other. "Let's start heading in the others' directions," Ettie would chirp - to which Anne would nod in agreement; the two adjusting the general direction they were sniffing and searching about in, accordingly.
But finally, there was Duchess and Princess - the both of whom initially quite eager and curious, about this strange part of the forest they had found. Why was it so warm here, compared to everywhere else? Why was it so green, as if it were spring? Duchess, as eager as ever, would yip as she pranced along amongst the flowers - although Princess was quick to notice that something was wrong; scruffing the Electrike, and muttering in an urgent tone <Duchess. Look up.> Though Duchess would make a surprised little 'yipe' at being scruffed, she would stop at Princess' direction, blinking curiously, before gazing upwards...
... And seeing a number of Kakuna, hanging from the trees above. This sight would make Duchess freeze a bit - both she and Princess knowing quite well, that where Kakuna were, Beedrill were likely not far behind. With this in mind, both pups would begin to try to vacate the area, as quickly - and quietly - as possible. Neither of them wanted to deal with Beedril - not now, not ever.

Ettie Tetsu Asterite The Pokémon considers your offer...9VTaVpaUp_...and agrees to join your team! The Pokémon considers your offer...p_...and declines to join your team, but is still willing to help you out for now!
The wild level 10 Ponyta has been captured! One Poké Ball has been removed from your inventory. --- A random event has occurred! While the older brother between the Galarian Ponyta was eager to join Tetsu's team, the younger one was more skittish. The two had a conversation with one another, and it seemed the young man's empathy paid off - they both agreed to help locate Molly and her Pokémon. The still-wild Ponyta stood at Tetsu's side and turned around. He sounded a whinny before curving his head toward the muscled human, facing northeast and looking ready to bolt that direction at a moment's notice. Ettie's pack was right to turn around and look for an alternate path - one of the hanging Kakuna even lowered itself to Princess' height and tried to sting her! Another one even chased one of the flitting Butterfree away. Even to other bug Pokémon, Kakuna venom was no joke. The warmth seemed to be concentrated to the canine Pokémon's northeast.
