Slate City Gym
Introduction
Located next door to the Slate City Museum, this building's old walls were reinforced when thick steel when converted into a Gym. The Leader, Ashlee Steely, the "Steelclad Sentinel", is a young woman with long, black, flowing hair. She favors Rock and Steel Pokémon.
Requirements
You must bring at least three Pokémon, all of which must be at least level 10.
The Pokémon you bring all must be within 10 levels of each other.
There are no specific size requirements, but very large Pokémon may have trouble maneuvering among the arena's obstacles.
You must be familiar with and follow the Official Battle rules.
Gym Trial
Ashlee's Gym Trial takes place during the battle itself. As soon as the battle starts, a fierce sandstorm blows in the in-ground arena, making it more difficult for Trainers to see what is going on and instruct their Pokémon properly. This sandstorm will last for the duration of the battle. In addition to the normal effects of a sandstorm in a Pokémon battle, Weather-altering moves, and moves that rely on non-Sandstorm weather for effects other than damage, cannot be used. Weather-altering Abilities, such as Drizzle, do not work. This includes moves that have variable, weather-dependent accuracy, such as Thunder, as well as moves whose effects vary depending on weather, such as Morning Sun and Weather Ball. If you have any questions, ask a Staff member.
The Battlefield
Ashlee's arena is an in-ground, steel-walled arena with a rock floor 15 feet thick and a steel floor underneath that. The arena itself is 50 feet wide, 50 feet long, and 15 feet deep. There are eight rock spires, each 5 feet in diameter, arranged in a perfect octagon in a 10-foot radius from the center.
