Today should have been the day he departed for Cerise City. However, fate had other plans for Armand when he heard from the news report that the senior mining staff of Slate City Mining Company was held hostage by a group of radicals who called themselves Team Epoch. He did hear about similar groups like Team Rocket or Flare, but he only thought of them as a nuisance to the region they were in rather than a threat in his view. Regardless, he didn't want to leave Slate City with this matter unresolved. So he organized his party with the PC and headed off to the mines. Once there, Armand saw several police officers surrounded the mines with some of the miners were questioned by some of them. Knowing what he got himself into, he tried to enter the mines, but... "Halt!" One of the police officers shouted as he blocked the entrance once he saw the trainers. "This area is closed off due to an ongoing incident.""I'm aware," Armand answered before he procured his license and permit he managed to obtain before he arrived. "My name is Armand, a Rank 2 trainer and I got permission to try and rectify the situation.""Trainer?" The officer hummed in thought as he stared at him before he gasped. "Hang on, are you the same Armand Leclair, the same guy who beat that giant Skarmory on Russetton?"He sighed in dismay. While a small recognition was fine, he had a feeling this might snowball into a disaster. For now, he nodded yes and said, "I was informed what happened and I'm willing to enter there to try and save the remaining miners inside.""I-I see." The officer then moved away and removed the tape so Armand could enter. "Just be careful inside, lad. We don't know who these Epoch people are, but I know they are more than just mere criminals."He nodded in acknowledgment before he entered the mine with his expression became cold. nXKe6pe8p_ [Roll Count: 1/200] [Quest Count: 1/8] Word Count: 334 Post Count: 1 Travel Count: 1/15

Armand Leclair A random event has occurred!Oh, no...Shortly after descending the main shaft after being let through by Slate City police, Armand wandered the first sublevel for a little while when the ground gave way beneath him! He fell through to the second sublevel, landing on top of a Machop with a hard impact. Two more Machop near where he fell let out loud cries that echoed loudly off the surrounding walls. The one he had fallen on top of did its best to wrestle free of Armand. All three were each wearing a gi with a blue insignia of an hourglass shattered at its neck stitched into the front and back. None of them looked happy, either. As soon as the two had finished their crying out, the fighting-types turned around to face Armand, showing him fighting stances. The trainer was surrounded in narrow quarters, too - fighting with particularly large Pokémon might be unwieldy! STATS

Once he stepped into the first sublevel, Armand's calm composure suddenly broke as he saw the emptiness of the tunnel. If he recalled, the mine was filled with miners working on mining some materials like coal for Slate City, so just seeing this made him a bit unnerved as he felt his sweat ran through his face. Not wanting to panic, he took a few deep breaths and said, "Those ruffians must not be far ahead. According to the police, the other trainers are going to join with the rescue, so I should try to rescue one of t-"Suddenly just as he stepped forward, he found himself falling as the ground gave way beneath him. "H-Huh?"Before he could react properly, he crashed onto the ground back-first as he saw clouds of dust from the collapse blew around his face. Thankfully, he wasn't injured as he slowly got up, coughing, and looked around at his new surroundings. "Terrific. Just what I need, a fragile ground. I'm just lucky that wasn't a cave-in."All of the sudden, he heard echoed cries around the cave. Shocked, he cautiously scanned the area until he found two Machop gave him death glares. He even looked down and saw another one trapped below him before it angrily pushed away to free itself. Even if he managed to get back up, he found himself surrounded by these angry Pokemon as they prepared to attack him. "Again, terrific. Of all places I had to fall into, it had to be Machop." He then noticed the strange outfits they were wearing as he took out his Poke Balls. "From what they were wearing, I have a feeling that catching them is not an option for me. In that case..." With one toss to both of his Poke Balls, he let out his Sobble and Pincurchin as they noticed their new opponents right in front of them. "Um... Those Machop don't look friendly to me," Cache meekly thought as he nervously stared at his Pokemon. "As if I can state it otherwise. Regardless, you two have to defeat them if we want to proceed. Capturing them isn't an option for us right now considering their strange attire.""Cool! I was wondering if I don't show up in a battle right now!" A voice proudly echoed in Armand's head, which he knew was his Pincurchin's. "So you're saying that you want us to beat them up, right? I'm in! I'll poke them out with all my might!"The trainer lightly chuckled at his urchin Pokemon. "Go ahead. I just need to get past through these muscleheads in any means necessary." Out of all Pokemon, he has on his team, his Pincurchin was the most energetic battler next to Serrer. Though he was a bit guilty that he didn't let him participate in many battles compared to his main powerhouses. But it had to change for this situation like this one. "Hang on, there are three of them and there are only Epi and me. How are we going to defeat them like this?"That was true. Cache and Epi were enough to take them on. However, he felt a bit mischievous as he smirked in response. "Don't worry, he already got that covered. For now, focus on two of those Machop and cover me."While they were still confused at what their trainer was planning, they nodded in approval before they turned their attention to their opponents. Epi started by charging himself with electricity while Cache let out his Growl, which caused all of the Fighting-type to cover their ears. However, that made them mad as all of them charged at them with two of them used Low Kick while the remaining one used Low Kick on Cache's feet. While the Water-type quickly dodged the third Machop's attack, the Sea Urchin Pokemon took both attacks, which he retaliated with Peck in a point-blank range on one of them. As for Cache, he fired a Water Pulse onto the attacking Machop, which caused it to push it a few feet away from him. Meanwhile, Armand quickly let out his Litwick during all of this and he already ordered him to use Confuse Ray on the remaining Fighting-type humanoid Pokemon. Before it could notice him, the attack hit and this caused it to stumble while he tried to retain its balance. However, this gained attention from the others as one of the unconfused Machop tried to use Revenge while the other used Reversal on Armand's Sobble on his chest. But to its surprise, he just phased through his body, much to its confusion. As for Violet, he smirked before he fired Ember towards its face while Epi endured another Low Kick before he Pecked one of them again. "Très Bien, Violet! Now use Confuse Ray on the others! Cache, use Water Pulse to do the same!"Both Pokemon cried out before they released their said attacks to great accuracy. The resulting attacks caused them to grow confused as to their friend as three of Armand's Pokemon stood in front of them as he took a few steps to them. "I wish I can fight more of you, but I'm afraid I have an important rescue mission to attend to. So adieu." With a snap of his fingers, Epi released his Thunder Shock many times while Violet and Cache fired several Water Pulses and Embers to their opponents. The group of Machop tried to fight back, but even if they got two Revenge attacks on Epi and Cache (with Violet remained uninjured due to his typing), their confusion and burns made them incapacitated to the point they fainted in exhaustion after they couldn't take their last attacks. Once that was done, everyone cheered as the trainer approached them and smiled as they petted them. "Nice job, everyone. But it's not over yet. I'll call you again when there is more trouble ahead. Violet, I'm going to need you for light.""Got it!" Everyone called out into Armand's head before he returned Epi and Cache into their Poke Balls and headed into the deeper parts of the tunnel with his Candle Pokemon by his side. nloLMKTNp_ [Roll Count: 2/200] [Quest Count: 2/8] Word Count: 1032 Post Count: 2 Travel Count: 2/15 Note: As of this thread, Violet's levels up from 14 to 15, Cache from 13 to 14, and Epi from 11 to 12. Armand Leclair A random event has occurred!Oh, no...
The commotion of the battle, particularly Cache's Water Pulse attack, caused the ground beneath Armand and his team to become unstable and crumble yet again! As Epi fell, one of his pins cut through a wire on the third sublevel, causing the lights to go out! His miners' cap was the only source of light he had now. After the sound of crashing rubble became progressively more faint, the first thing he noticed was half of a red-and-white sign hanging from the side of a tunnel. What remained of the sign read as follows: DECOMM DAN KEEP Due to extremely dange this mining tunnel ha take responsibility who travel beyon

There was a thing called what-ifs. For one thing, Armand should have congratulated his Pokemon on a good well done and move on into the sublevel to continue his objective. After that, it should have been easy to find the culprits. Except it didn't happen. Instead, he found himself falling deeper into the mines due to one of Cache's attacks afterward and he ended up on the ground before his Pokemon landed on his chest with his Pincurchin caused him to scream in pain before the lights shut off. "O-Oh! I'm sorry, Armand!" Epi panickly removed himself from his chest before his trainer got up and tried to recover from his fall. "Are you okay?""Y-Yeah, I'm fine. Although I should have watched my surroundings during the battle. I didn't except this happened." He said as he massaged his back. As for the water lizard, he approached Armand in panic. Considering that he was the one who fired the Water Pulse that caused the ground to crumble, he felt guilty as he said, "I-I didn't mean it, Armand. I-I was following your orders!""I understand, Cache. Don't beat yourself up for it. What's more important is that we managed to get past through those Machop no problem. Although not in the way I expect it to be." The trainer then scanned around the area until he noticed his helmet's light shined the sign hanging nearby. It seemed broken, yet he could read the contents of it. "From the looks of it, there is no way for me to search beyond that area. For now, we should turn back and try to find a way out while finding those ruffians as soon as we can."With that said, he returned his Sobble and Pincurchin into their Poke Balls before he turned to his Ghost/Fire-type living candle. "Violet, don't get separated from me. Other than my miner's cap, you're the only light source we have right now.""I understand. You don't want me to overdo it, right?"Armand slightly chuckled. "It's as if you read my mind. Just keep your guard up. We don't know what those Epoch bandits have in mind for us."With that, he headed in the other direction with Violet by his side to continue his mission. At the same time, he checked on his phone if he got any signal just in case he needed to contact the police for an update. 68A9uTfyp_ [Roll Count: 30/200] [Quest Count: 3/8] Word Count: 406 Post Count: 3 Travel Count: 3/15 Note: Oh, why Armand.

Armand Leclair A random event has occurred!Oh, no...
This corner of the third sublevel was largely not traveled by humans in recent days; there were a few footprints here and there, but most of them were from Pokémon that roamed the labyrinthine tunnels on a regular basis. Worse yet, he was far enough underground that his signal was almost totally gone; his phone was moving in and out of Local Mode periodically. The only thing he came across was a sleeping Lunatone...and one that appeared to be in a deep sleep, too. STATS

Terrific. Not only the tunnels in this sublevel were a confusing maze for him to get through, but he wasn't able to connect through the signal of his phone, much to his dismay. "Dammit, forget the police. Looks like I can't get through the PC to organize my party," he sighed before he pocketed his phone. "At least I bought some medicine and Revives beforehand. That will make it less difficult for this manhunt."But as he looked up, he froze in his tracks and quickly hid behind a rock. He couldn't believe his eyes. Right in front of him was the Meteorite Pokemon itself, Lunatone sleeping nearby. Sure, he preferred catching Ghost-type Pokemon, but Psychic-types were like his soul Pokemon. While the reason why probably because of his psychic abilities, he couldn't help but stare at it in awe of its mysterious abilities. They were practically his second favorite Pokemon types. Now back to the Lunatone, normally, he would try to sneak through it and get back to his mission. But he didn't want to waste this chance and with his limited time here, he needed to catch it without disturbing the Rock/Psychic-type crescent rock. He couldn't blame himself. He didn't have any Psychic-types with him and he needed a balanced team for his future gym battles. He had to think fast or else. "Armand?"He quietly gasped when he heard a familiar voice in his head and turned to his Litwick. "Oh, sorry about that, Violet. I was lost in thought back there. Still, I do need a Lunatone for the team.""Wait, right now?!" Violet exclaimed. "I thought we're supposed to escape and find the bad guys.""I know, but don't worry. I got that covered." Armand then pulled out his empty Quick Ball and showed it to his partner Pokemon. "I hope I've made the right decision buying two of these Quick Balls."With that, he tossed it to the Meteorite Pokemon without hesitation. Armand Leclair threw a Quick Ball!yhvtSXyYp_The wild Lunatone was captured successfully! One Quick Ball has been removed from your inventory. --- As Armand wandered toward the southeast section of the third sublevel, his phone reconnected long enough to allow him to send his new catch to storage, if he desired. The sound of frantic footsteps, as well as a distant-sounding crash, echoed from the level above. He could have sworn someone shouting about Machop, as well. Were the Epochs onto him? They hadn't tracked him down either way, so he had time to prepare. He also caught a glimpse of a Water Gem out of the corner of his eye, in between the rails of a small track. Perhaps it fell out of a cart mid-transit?

Gotcha! The Quick Ball has done it again! Once it clicked shut, Armand rushed over to pick it up and checked on his new Pokemon. He knew this wasn't a good time to celebrate, but he couldn't help but smile at the fact he caught his first-ever Psychic-type Pokemon. Thankfully, by the time he got Lunatone and traversed around the tunnels, he noticed that his phone got enough signal for a PC transfer. This was a perfect coincidence as he placed it into his party and stored his Houndour in his PC. If he wanted to win against a Team Epoch criminal, he might as well prepare a more balanced team. First things first, though. He took out his Pincurchin and Sobble and used two of his Potions to heal him up for the incoming battle. After that, all that's left was to find them and get out. "Armand, someone's coming!"Hearing Violet's panicked thoughts, he pocketed his phone and Poke Ball and rushed to him. When he did, he heard footfalls and mutterings above them. And when he heard them shouting about a Machop, his eyes widened as he realized that his Litwick's panic was justified. "Looks like our little stunt might have gained some unwanted attention. We need to hurry before they can get to us.""What do you mean?" Violet asked naively. "Let's just say they might have some plans to trap us. Either way, we have to hurry."After picking up a Water Gem that he found along the way, he and Violet headed through the tunnels, hoping that they could find their way out and save those miners at the same time. Armand Leclair A random event has occurred!Armand could hear several muffled screams after turning a corner, the noise coming from ahead of him. A hundred feet or so down the tunnel, Violet could see see one of the captured miners being questioned by a tall man wearing a blue, black, and white uniform with a large, hourglass-shaped logo. The man turned his head toward the light of the ghost-type's head, then shoved the chair the tied-up miner was in backward, leaving the poor guy in an awkward position. He was going to lose circulation in his legs if left there for an extended period of time. "This is agent one-niner-four, hostile spotted. Requesting backup at coordinates Charlie Four-Delta Alpha-Alpha. Over." He turned to the direction Violet was and saw Armand. "You must be the rat that's caused our boss all kinds of trouble. When I'm done with you, he'll give me a promotion to Epoch Executive for sure!" With that, he thrust a Poké Ball in Violet's and Armand's direction. He needed to end this battle quickly, or more trouble might come! You are challenged by Team Epoch Grunt 194!Loot: 112 Pen, Copper x4, Quick Ball x2, Gold x4 STATS

Armand Leclair With no way for the Epoch to self-defend and nowhere to run, it was easy for Armand to apprehend them. Thankfully for him, they hadn't been radicalized to the point where they would rather be a martyr, but their lips were sealed; from the silence he got, it was obvious he wasn't getting any information from them. Perhaps the police would have better luck getting some information about the Epochs' ultimate goal? Either way, the hard work was done; all that remained was to report back. SbmRB4Uwp_Epi suffered a heavy blow during the battle, but no serious wounds were inflicted. Epi can be treated at a Pokémon Center as normal.
