Mining Melancholy Once; Anyone | Up to 2 characters 4-10 posts Urgent Quest Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Prerequisites: At least 1 Fame, cannot be Team Epoch aligned
Description: Several senior staff members of Slate City Mining Company, including managers Darren and Joshua Rasla, have been captured by Team Epoch during regular operations. Company security has yet to locate them, and they are looking to hire outside assistance with experience. Bonus pay will be awarded for apprehending the Team Epoch agent in charge of this operation.
Instructions: Each post has a word-count requirement of 150 words. After each post, you must roll using [ proll ] and Mod Call for a random event to react to. After reacting to the event, you will roll again. This process continues until one of two conditions occurs: 1) Your rolls total 200 or higher and you have reached 4 or more posts. 2) You have reached 8 posts and your rolls still total less than 200.
If your rolls total less than 200, the Team Epoch member you are chasing gets away, and you turn up your Quest empty handed. Otherwise, you will get a Journey encounter. This encounter is guaranteed to be a Trainer Battle with a Team Epoch agent. Once you have dealt with the Team Epoch agent, you can locate one of the captured miners and escort them out of the mines.
No rewards are earned until the thread is closed.
Notes: Depending on circumstances, you may be expected to be familiar with the Official Battle Rules. Please reference the appropriate section of the Guidebook for further information.
This Quest can only be initiated between February 1 and March 15. The Quest can be continued after that, but it must be finished by March 31; otherwise, it will be closed. Partial rewards may be issued at Staff discretion.
That was the day that Tetsu and Ettie happened to be on Slate City. He thought that perhaps... perhaps he could spend some time on the city. He got tons of fossils he have to revive anyway, and so he thought it'll be fine if he also work part time on some jobs or something. Train that body more with hard work you know? But before he could even do that... well... Shit has gone south pretty much. He quickly hastes to Ettie, telling her that he wanted to help those who got trapped down there. Kids like him going down there, apparently wouldn't catch as much attention. Plus, he's sure to be able to use his aura sight to know where to go. That was his excuse.
To his surprise, Ettie told him that she'll go too. He tried to dissuade her, but Riku immediately stopped him. Let the girl follow, according to the Lucario. He won't be able to stop her, and so he need to let her come as he himself is being selfish by going. Letting her be selfish too in turn would only be proper. Well, after being told that, he can't say much and let her come with him.
Today's party was designed for search and firepower if needed.
Sphalerite - For his sheer firepower Tourmaline - Incapaciting through poison and ability to boost speed Rutile - Speed and fast acting, also for speed Riku - Strength and aura power Alexandrite - Long range snipe Durandal - In case fighting one against one is needed.
He also did not forget to give Alexandrite five rare candy to let him catch up with the rest of the team, and one for Durandal. At least this means his party is now on level 20 ish. He hope that this is enough. In the upper mine somewhere, after reporting to the security of the company... he activated his aura sight.
"Ettie, I'll be depending on you on looking for sounds and whatnot, alright?" he told her in low voice. "We hopefully able to do this successfully... Mmmm, how to communicate, I wonder...I don't think Durandal knows psychic technique..."
Some aura can be picked up easily by Riku... and if Ettie brings Anat, he knows that their way of communication is pretty much secure as Riku knows how to communicate with Anat easily through aura. There's certain bond between them and shared knowledge on top of it. "Anyway, let's move. I'll begin looking for any noticable footprints."

If Ettie was honest... She was a little bit nervous, about all of this. Even Anne was against them getting involved in what was a potentially sensitive situation; and from what Ettie had heard about all of this, things were probably pretty dangerous in the mines right now. However, Tetsu was deadset on going - and Ettie, concerned for her dear packmate's wellbeing, was not going to let him go it alone.
Thus, after putting together the strongest team that she could for this trek, Ettie would be alongside Tetsu; almost eerily silent as her eyes scanned over their surroundings. Even her movements would be quiet, as if she were stalking some unseen prey - a side to her that even Anne would be emulating, the two on full alert for any potential threats. Aside from Anne though, there would also be Duchess, Princess, Aster, Scarlet, and none other than Anat as well; the collective group regarding this tense atmosphere in their own ways.
As Tetsu spoke, Ettie would not even turn her gaze towards him - but it was easy to tell that she was listening, by the way her aura-ears would twitch in his direction and the way she would quietly nod. Yeah; he was counting on her, and her pack's senses. They had to keep their eyes out for any potential threats, to look for those Epoch agents, for the individuals kidnapped down here...
As Anat gently placed a hand on her shoulder though - <Relax, little one. Don't sense anyone.> - Ettie would blink in surprise, before exhaling sharply and nodding; straightening her posture. "... Sorry." She'd murmur a bit, sighing as she ran her fingers through her hair briefly. With how Anne and Tetsu both made a big deal out of her staying safe, she wasn't 100% sure what to expect, as far as danger went.
Anat, in response, would simply smile serenely. <Let's use as lesson.> She would state gently, watching the way that Ettie's aura would begin to settle back down as the child calmed back down. <Focus. Listen. Watch.> She spoke, taking the lead for Ettie's pack as they began walking. <Aura is heartbeat made visible. Seeing is first step to learning.>
This was something that Ettie was told before, by Anat. She still wasn't sure if she had anything remotely resembling a grasp on this aura stuff; but the Lucario had seen something in her ever since they met, and Anat thus had begun trying to see if she couldn't teach Ettie to percieve - if not outright use - aura. The closest that the wildchild could get thus far were the barest flickers of, well, something; but she wasn't sure if it was really aura, or a trick of the light, that she had seen then...
Either way though, she would at least pay attention to Anat's words; trying to remain aware of her surroundings as the group walked along. All the while, the pups would be sniffing about - remaining alert for any signs of life in the mine.

Tetsu Asterite Ettie A random event has occurred! The tunnels under the surface level of the mines were more labyrinthine than the ones both of them were used to from mining elsewhere. Tetsu got turned around a couple of times, but did catch a glimpse of a metallic surface stuck in a dead-end; perhaps there was something valuable to be mined out there? While he wasn't successful in tracking down humans, Tetsu may have successfully tracked down valuable ore! Ettie's pack had much better luck - they were easily able to sniff out a path to the mines' second sublevel. If their briefing from the petitioner was to be believed, there were three sublevels. Her Lucario in particular was able to sense aura residue in shapes not native to species of Pokémon that normally inhabited the mines. Anne's sharp hearing was able to pick up male-sounding human murmurs, but between the raw distance and the tunnels' reverberation, it was impossible to discern words.

Hmmm they got turned around several times, but it's not as if it's... a total waste. For one Tetsu has noted about the structural integrity of the place here... Which means he need another quick swap. Tourmaline would bring disaster upon this place. Ground type, Rock type would be disastrous if they use earthquake... So really, what he could do is well... switch. However, which one to switch? More fire type probably will be bad. Closed space plus fire could lead to explosion...
...Well, no time like now. He guess he'll switch Tourmaline to Turquoise.
...Hmn, he accidentally gone to the wrong direction it seems. Something is on the end... He guess he'll check on it later. He decided to mark it up. Just to be sure. Ettie seem have more luck. Why, he wonder... is it because she's more used to tracking? Either way, he decided to follow her. There bound to be something along the way, right? The second sublevel while at it... it definitely means that the perpetrators were deeper. Tetsu decided to refocus his attention to the task at hand. As much as he wanted to get out the metal at the end, people's life is in danger. It's more important than some shiny stone, rare as they may.
Tetsu signed to Ettie "stay quiet, whisper if it's important to talk. Mouth if it's not so important."
Riku gave a signal by creating a miniscule aura orb on tip of his paw.
Tetsu immediately mouthed "use this for signal to talk. If you want to talk, do this, and mouth your words."

Sharp senses were key in tracking down these Epoch agents, apparently; it didn't take long for the pack to key in on something, even as Tetsu and his pokemon seemed to get a bit turned around initially. Not that anyone could blame him - Ettie found these tunnels to be pretty dizzying, herself! There was no distinct reference points or landmarks to really go by - meaning that she didn't have much of a clue which way she was going! And so, the young girl would attempt to make landmarks of her own, by marking the walls with her knife as she went; hoping that they would be able to backtrack out of the mine once everything was done with...
... But before long, Anat would gesture for the pack to stop - her eyes fixed on the traces of aura left behind, likely by other humans. <... Focus here.> The Lucario would whisper to Ettie, gesturing in the direction of the aura residue. <See anything, little one?>
At the Lucario's instruction, Ettie would stop and gaze towards the indicated location, trying to focus and see if anything would - well - show up for her. From just looking at the ground, it looked just the same as everywhere else in the mines - dirty stone grounds - but... What was that flicker of color?
As soon as it happened, Ettie would blink and rub at her eyes - but upon taking a second glance... The color she had seen was gone. She would attempt to focus again, but Tetsu would soon come up alongside her - the other trainer making... Strange gestures, with his hands? Mouthing... something to her? Ettie tilted her head, looking quite concerned, bewildered, and unsure of what, exactly, was going on here. "Huh...?"
Seeing this, Anat would sigh gently, patting Ettie on the head in a fond and reassuring fashion, before gesturing to Tetsu. [She'll follow lead when you lead. Just follow lead when she leads.] She'd attempt to sign to the young boy; having originally been Tetsu's pokemon for some time, meaning that she was quite familiar with signing.

Ettie Tetsu AsteriteBoth the Lucario seemed to do well in pinpointing the Auras' locations. Anat and Riku were able to work together to deduce the Auras' sources down to a few dozen feet. However, close investigation revealed there was no direct path to get to the chamber where the readings were coming from; they would need to go down to the third sublevel and find another way back up to the second sublevel.

Ah drats, Ettie wouldn't know much about sign languages huh? But thankfully Riku was about to told him that their target seem to be on the other side of the wall... so all is good, in a sense? "Sorry about that," he whispered near her ear. "Was saying we should mouth each other wordlessly want we wanted to do, and use aura to communicate with one another. I don't really have Aura Projection so my idea is to do this instead."
Tetsu reinforced only tip of his finger. Green hue appeared on the tip of his index finger. While it's not as bright as aura projection, it's still very noticable. ".....I'll use this as mean that I want to catch your attention, alright? And well, about signing, Anat understands me, so I think she will tell you about what I'm saying."
While the tension is still low it can't really be said that they're going to stay low like this... Honestly, he wondered if there's more effective way to track...
"Let's continue," he whispered. "Stay close to me, alright?"
He began looking for the stairways leading to the third sublevel. Few feet below them huh... Something makes him feel... he guess a bit iffy about the entire situation? Not sure how to put his finger on it... It feels like there is a glaring mistake at his little plan. Is it his team or is it something else?
Tetsu regardless once again tried to look at the ground for any hint of the way they can use. Are there any markings on the wall? Or is there any changes on the air? The more that he thinks it the more he felt it would have been nice to purchase some oxygen tank just in case... Especially considering that there might be chance a Poison Pokemon is used to neutralize them isntead...

As Tetsu whispered to Ettie, the young girl would nod and listen close - her aura ears twitching and swiveled in his direction. So Tetsu wanted to figure out a way for them to communicate with eachother silently? "I'll follow lead!" She'd simply whisper back to him, adding "I... Don't really know what you were saying, when you were kinda mouthing, anyways." She never really interacted with humans - or humanoid pokemon - enough to really figure out reading one's lips, and canid pokemon don't really have lips to read, anyhow!
As Tetsu demonstrated the little glow at the tip of his finger though, and mentioned that Anat would be able to translate for him what he would be signing, she would nod again, but... "If us whispering to each other is too risky, though... Wouldn't it be risky for Anat to whisper to me, too?
Smiling sheepishly to Tetsu, Ettie would decide to suggest to him "Let's just follow each other's leads as necessary, okay? We both know we're hunting these bad guys down, so it's just a question of how we do it - and I can follow your lead, without hearing you, if I can see you." That was how her home pack worked, anyhow. Though Mama was the technical leader, Mama wasn't afraid to let another packmate take point, if they had a good idea!
And with that being said, Tetsu would take point in this case - Ettie being more than happy to stick to his side as they moved through the tunnels of the mine. All the while though, Ettie would try to focus on the path ahead of them - hoping, waiting to see, if there would be any sign of the trespassers - as her pack kept their noses to the ground and air....

Tetsu Asterite Ettie Thanks to both the explorers' navigation skills, the two manage to get to the other side of the wall where the earlier noise was coming from. There was a large amount of light coming from beyond a translucent, black curtain covering a short but wide tunnel. On the other side, the two could hear human voices of some kind, though they were still too muffled to understand the conversation. Anat's and Riku's Aura readings were consistent with there being people on the other side of the curtain. If the two were to look closely, there would be a logo of an inverted hourglass in the corners of the curtain.

"Heh, thanks there, Ettie." He gives the girl a headpat. "Alright, we'll most likely get our target immediately after this, so let's get a move... We have no idea if the team Epoch grunts have any aura user with them or not, so just in case... before we enter the area to fight against them... Draw our Honedges out, alright?"
Honedges are ghost type. aura users won't be able to detect them. The absence of Aura will be odd, but at the very least they'll be ready before they jump in with their swords drawn. That's what Tetsu have in mind. In his case, the height of his sword and the width of the mine shaft was enough thankfully. Part of him was grateful that he did not make Durandal huge yet.
"Hmm, that's true too, Lucario doesn't seem to be native around here... well, it's alright. I think your ears are more sensitiven to whispers, I hope? Plus it's not like she need to whisper all that loud considering her proximity to us."
Well regardless... they're about to face off with the grunts... hopefully the grunts. Part of him thought that there are... something... something that may be even more than grunts involved. But whatever...
Tetsu looked at Ettie, then raised his Honedge slowly. He wanted to listen in what's being spoken, but... at the moment, it's best to keep their advantage...
"...In count of three," he whispered, raising three fingers. ...Two... One.
Tetsu quickly draws his Honedge from his scabbard. Durandal's tassels wrapped around his left arm like a muscle strengthening wave. With Riku and Sphalerite, he dashed forward to face the criminals. "EN GARDE!" he would declare!

Draw out their Honedges? Ettie was more than happy to accept the headpat - rocking up onto her tippy-toes so as to press her head into his touch - although the notion of finally putting Scarlet to use was an interesting one... How would that go, she'd wonder? "Well... Trusting in you, then, Scarlet," She'd giggle to the ghost-sword at her hip with a warm smile; even as Scarlet seemed to only regard her with a... Rather intent gaze, though Ettie was unsure about what the meaning behind that gaze was...
If only Tetsu knew, what he was about to wrought on himself, and the agents they were hunting down.
With a plan set in stone though, Ettie would nod to Tetsu - following him, and following the two Lucario, as they would make their way through the mines; nearing their destination bit by bit. Eventually though, they would come to a section of the mine that seemed to be sectioned off by a curtain of sorts - a strange sight, but a sight that was a clear sign that they were here. This was sure to be where their targets were currently hiding - and she could hear voices, albeit muffled ones, just beyond.
As Tetsu prepared to draw Durandal, and began gesturing out the count of three, Ettie - too - would prepare to draw out Scarlet; her heart beating hard in her chest, with the excitement of the moment before the pounce. Her pack, too, would be readied - muscles tensed, crouched down in preparation to pounce or dart forwards...
One... Two...
... Three.
The second that Ettie's fingers even brushed against Scarlet's hilt, the Honedge wasted no time in wrapping her tassel around Ettie's wrist - a low and excited hum escaping the blade, whose eye was now wide open, pupil darting around wildly for the nearest enemy. There was something wrong, Anat could easily tell - the way that the young child's eyes would suddenly light up, teeth bared in unrestrained excitement, as her aura wildly bristled...
... But the motherly Lucario would have no chance to voice any concerns, before Ettie would throw back her head and let loose a wild and unrestrained howl, like a warcry - "AOOOOUUUUUUUUU!" - and charged on in! And the pack, too, would join in the chorus as they howled (or, in the case of Anne and Duchess, Howled) and charged in alongside her; eager to join in the fray of what was sure to be a chaotic fight!

Tetsu Asterite Ettie Indeed, the two had reached their targets; a pair of scientists were frantically working at what appeared to be a portable Fossil Research Lab, given the large pile of Pokémon fossils. They were being supervised by two males in black, white, and blue uniforms with the same hourglass logo that was on the curtain. The two grabbed Poké Balls stowed at waist level, threatening to unleash whatever was inside. "This is a restricted area," one of them barked toward Ettie and Tetsu in a deep voice. Oh that's a bit overkill, Tetsu thinks...
Like, so many dogs charging at the other guy? But that's true, he can't think of a reason to play nice with these guys. For the meantime... As the Kabuto launched from its Pokeball, in response Tetsu would hurl Durandal to it. The sword Pokemon immediately launched from his hand like a missile, intercepting the Kabuto. Meanwhile, Riku lauched himself to fight Omanyte. As for the boy himself?
"RAAAH!"
The grunt noticed that both kids aren't willing to even adhere to the traditional Pokemon battle rules. The boy himself already locked in hand to hand combat with the other guy. "KUH! OMANYTE! STEALTH ROCK!"
<Won't let you!> Riku barked as he grabbed the Omanyte and rolled out of the room. The stealth rock might have scattered a bit close to the entrance. It gonna makes it hard for him to return back to the battle... but Tetsu trusts him. Now there's lsss combatants which means less obstacles. Sphalerite quickly positions himself to protect the scientists. He gave a thumb up to them to make sure they know they're safe now. What's left is the battle.
Outside, Riku squaring off with the Omanyte.
<No one to command. Can you fight?> Riku taunted. The Omanyte hissed in anger, launching water gun. In response, Riku used Dark Pulse. The attack collided, creating spray of water. But the Lucario isn't done yet. He quickly closed in the distance and attacked with a Sky Uppercut! Meanwhile on the other side, the Kabuto and Durandal locked in a fight.
"Water Pulse!"
"Do you even have the time to look away from me!?" Tetsu taunted. He fortified his left fist with aura momentarily, punching at the goon. A dull sound could be heard as the goon skidded away for a moment.
"Kuh, monsters..."
"I don't want to hear that from criminals!"
The water pulse hits its target, Durandal thanks to his No Guard. However, the Honedge actually expected this, and was using shadow sneak beforehand. Aerial Ace won't do much, so Shadow Sneak is his only choice. The other guy doesn't seem to be too hot either, but who cares~ Outside, the battle getting more and more intense. The Omanyte was forced to go on defensive while Riku trying to get close. Bite and Rollout won't even do much to the Lucario... while attacking with Water Gun would only make the Lucario counter with his own Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse or Flash Cannon. Thankfully, Riku knows better than to attack with his strongest techniques at random. The Lucario also aimed to end the fight as soon as possible. At the moment, he's winning, especially with the fact that he's actually a strength boosted Pokemon. The increasingly impatient Omanyte made its last move known, using a rollout to forcefully enter the room again. However, Riku has predicted that. Using his body, he blocked the rollout, and immediately countered, knocking the fossil Pokemon out.
"Kuh! Come on Kabuto! Mud Slap at this kid!" the goon attempted to wiggle free by shifting the target to Tetsu himself.
"To me, Durandal!" Tetsu ordered the Honedge, who quickly returned to his dominant left arm and wrapped its tassel into a weave. The mud slap would have worked if Tetsu did not use Durandal to block the attack. He quickly resumed the attack with another shadow sneak. Decreasing accuracy when it comes to Honedges aren't really that useful anyway. In the end, it took Tetsu another Shadow Sneak to completely won.
"Whew..."
Tetsu's side of the battle has been won.

It seemed that - for a few moments - Anat would be the only one who seemed to notice that anything was wrong with Ettie. The rest of the pack was caught up in the thrill of the combat to begin as they charged in alongside their kin, howling both to rally one another into combat, and as a potentially terrifying warcry - one that had the grunts certainly startled as Ettie and Tetsu charged in alongside their pokemon. "W-What the hell?!" Grunt #526 would exclaim in bewilderment. "Where did these kids come from?!" As the pack made their charge, the grunt wasted no time in letting out his two pokemon - a Cranidos, and a Shieldon.
Though the Shieldon was reluctant to fight, he nonetheless would stand strong at the front line - and in using Protect, would be able to protect himself against the pokemon who had chosen to fight him - namely Anne, Princess, and Aster; their attacks bouncing off of the steel-type's study armor! Even though Anne and Duchess both had the mind to use Howl before the fight had even begun to give their pack the advantage, an increased attack wouldn't do much for piercing that Protect!
The Cranidos, meanwhile, was more than ready - letting out a shrill roar as he charged at the first pokemon he saw, which would be Anat, with a Headbutt! The Lucario, in response, would bring up her arms to brace herself against the attack with relative ease - and as her fist took on an almost steely glow, she would retaliate with a Power Up-Punch at the fossil pokemon's jaw! This would send the Cranidos reeling backwards, shaking his head to regain his bearings, as the thrill of combat only served to increase Anat's attack; Princess already coming in to support the larger Lucario...
... But what was going on with Ettie and Scarlet? Mayhem, to say the least; for when Ettie had taken hold of the Honedge, a sudden change had occured in the child. Namely, that a link formed between child and sword; not quite possession, but still having an influence upon the already excitable and impressionable Ettie, as she suddenly became aware of the emotions that filled Scarlet: an unrestrained thirst for battle, for excitement, for the clash of steel and claw!
<FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!> Cried Scarlet - a voice that only Ettie would hear - through the link they shared. <LET US SPREAD MAYHEM, LET US SHOW WHO TO FEAR! FIGHT IS NOT OVER, UNTIL LAST FOE FALLS!>
Instinctually - a wild and feral excitement falling over Ettie - the child would respond by snarling as she charged at the Cranidos without a second thought; swinging Scarlet at the rock-type with a Psycho Cut! Princess and Anat, both bewildered, would briefly step back in surprise - and the Cranidos, upon being struck, would snarl and stumble further back - seeing quite easily that he was outnumbered.
However, he did not back down; growling low as he now charged at Ettie and Scarlet, using Pursuit! The fearless child would stand her ground - and as the Cranidos stepped close, she would counter by striking at him with a Shadow Sneak! Though the Cranidos' teeth catching on Scarlet would certainly deal damage - a pain that Ettie felt empathetically, prompting a growl - the young girl would be able to twirl about behind the Cranidos with an almost supernatural ease thanks to Scarlet's influence; allowing her to strike at the dino pokemon from behind, with a shadowy blade!
Anat and Princess would be unsure of how to join in the fight - for it seemed like Ettie and Scarlet were perfectly content taking on the Cranidos alone! Nonetheless though, the Snubbull would act next; leaping at the fossil pokemon, to chomp down him with a Super Fang! Though it wouldn't do as much damage - due to the fact that the Cranidos had already taken plenty - it was still enough to further soften him up, as Ettie once more darted in with a second Psycho Cut!
Meanwhile though, the fight against the Shieldon would be going a bit less chaotically - but nonetheless just as smoothly as the fight against the Cranidos was. Duchess had wasted no time in paralyzing the steel-type with Thunder Wave, whilst she and Anne both would use Howl to bolster Aster! At least, until the Shieldon started using Taunt - that was - forcing the threesome to all go on the offensive as one!
Aster had powerful moves - Future Sight, Mega Horn, and Bite all offering their own benefits to fighting the Shieldon (even if only Bite was particularly effective,) whereas Duchess had moves like Spark and Thunder Fang, herself! Anne would be the only one who lacked in particularly reliable attacking moves - but Endeavor and Sucker Punch served particularly well all the same; ensuring that the Shieldon wouldn't be able to get the upper hand on any of them, regardless of the tactics taken, in a slow but steady fight!
Thus, amidst the chaos, it would not take long before the two fossil pokemon would fall - the Cranidos falling first, to Anat's fists, Princess' fangs, and Scarlet's blade all the same. The Shieldon would fall second - the only saving grace he had being Protect to draw out the fight; but otherwise not offering him any particular protection. As the two pokemon fell though, Ettie would throw back her head in yet another wild howl - "AOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU!" - much to the surprise of the rest of the pack, though they would nonetheless join in.
The Grunt, meanwhile, would be a bit terrified - which was quite understandable, given just how vastly outnumbered he and his colleague were, up against a rather unusual pair of trainers. As the grunt tried to reach into a bag to grab something - "Fuck, fuck, we need a Plan B he-" - Ettie's eyes would snap in his direction, as she pounced at him in a snarl! "GYAH! NO PLAN B! NO PLAN B!" The grunt would shout in terror as he was toppled over, given no chance to reach for whatever it was he was trying to retrieve as he was left with a feral child perched atop of him - Honedge in hand.
With the pack ensuring that neither of the Grunts were going anywhere, while Tetsu and his own pokemon checked on the researchers, it was safe to say that this fight was over.
Trainer Victory; also going to level Ettie's Stamina for her going uh... A bit batshit, fighting against the Cranidos + pouncing on the grunt.
Anne the Rockruff - Level 16 Duchess the Electrike - Level 15 > Level 16 Princess the Snubbull - Level 15 Aster the Absol - Level 20 Anat the Lucario - Level 17 Scarlet the Honedge - Level 15 > Level 16

Tetsu Asterite EttieThe two Explorers had successfully apprehended the Epochs holding the pair of male archaeologists hostage. While they weren't technically Slate City Mining Co. employees, the two appreciated the rescue effort all the same. The lead researcher went on about how the Epochs had fossil research as a secondary goal of their operation; the primary goal was to corner the fossil resurrection market in Ageos to fund a secret project of some kind. The names "Isaac" and "Richard" had been mentioned many times, as well. The assistant researcher recovered personal access devices of some kind from each of the Epochs, as well, and suggested they be turned over to the Slate City Police Department for analysis. Either way, the hard part was over! All the two had to do was guide the scientists out of the mines.
