Exploration 101
Once; Anyone without a Mining Kit | Up to 2 characters
At least 5 posts; see instructions
Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
You've found a wilderness-dwelling person that is willing to help you get into Mining. They'll show you everything you need to learn to dig into the depths of Ageos, and can even lead you to a nearby mining shaft!
Instructions
Each post has a 150 word-count requirement. After each post, you must roll using [ proil ], then Mod Call for a random event. You must react to the random event, then [ proll ] again.
On every roll of 51 or higher, you will get an item obtainable from Mining. Once you have successfully mined 3 items and have reached 5 posts, you may submit the thread for rewards. If you have already mined 3 items, you cannot dig for any more items after reaching 10 posts, and must then submit the thread for rewards.
NOTE: Items will be sent as they are found, not at the end of the thread.
Location
Any land-based location, other than a city, town, or Wild Area
Rewards
5 Rare Candies, and a Mining Kit. (Plus the items you received throughout the thread.)
”So this is the mine shaft huh?”
”Yeah but we shouldn’t start that until you’re ready. I gotta go over a few things with yah first.”
Tyrus turned his head to look back from the mine shaft; it looked dangerous and he didn’t really have anything that could change that for the moment. This hiker seemed to have everything in sorts; from digging equipment; ropes and even a pair of helmets. The latter of which had one being tossed at him. The man catching it and adjusting it so that he could look it over and give a small tug at one of the straps.
”Put that on. Grab a small shovel.”
”Easy enough. Why the small ones?”
”Yer new at it, why would I give you a big shovel for you to make somethin cave in or dig out too much and upset some pokemon?”
Tyrus gave a small nod and put on the helmet, adjusting it and turning on the light. Letting out a soft chuckle as it flickered to life. Maybe this gear was a little more worn out than he’d like but beggars couldn’t be choosers! The hiker did the same and picked out his own shovel; something that was just a wee bit better taken care of. The man would then gesture for Tyrus to follow him inside of the mine shaft.
”Now we’re gonna have you dig into some of this earlier wall, there’s not as much there cause of all the newbies that only go in finger deep but that’s the best place to start if you have no idea what-cher doin.”
”All right lets try this out…”

”Tha’s it, don’t be upset if you don’t get anything the first few times. Most people don’t see the good stuff if they don’t keep tryin.”
”Well it’s not like I’m going to stop just because I failed once or twice.”
”Hah. That’s fair; what’d you say your name was again?”
”Tyrus.”
”Huh. Strange name but I’m not one to really judge…”
The hiker snorted a bit and planted his shovel into the ground. Watching Tyrus fuss around with the smaller shovel that he was given…
