The Badlands was, safe to say, relatively warm. Even during the winter season, it seemed none of the chill and snow that would normally come with it had touched this place - the sun bearing down on the arid place, its relentless heat weakened but not abated. Ettie, though, would be untroubled by the warmth of it all as she rode along on Pierre's back. In fact, the pack as a whole would be more focused on something else; the very thing that had brought them here, into the wastelands...
... The wild pokemon, whom were attacking Russetton up north.
Aurien would be in his pokeball for the time being - just so that he didn't struggle to keep up with everyone - but everyone else would be out, following at Ettie's and Pierre's heels, and sniffing about for any signs of wild pokemon or a nearby nest. The sooner they could find these wild pokemon, the sooner that they could help put a stop to the strange assaults on the town!
As Ettie rode along though, the young girl would glance over to her companion for this hunt - Tetsu - and his own pokemon. "The pups don't smell anything yet, I don't think. You guys see anything?" She would ask the group as a whole; having been growing accustomed enough to most of Tetsu's pokemon, save for perhaps his newest additions, to be able to start gleaning some meaning from their words. "It's really warm out here; and you can see out pretty far..." She'd add in comment, humming a little. "Lots of space to run, but... I dunno if I'd enjoy not having many places to hide or stalk."
At least it meant the wild pokemon didn't have many places to hide, either; though the pack, nonetheless, would be on high alert as they moved...

<Our training, has not finished> Riku sadly muttered.
<Emergency is emergency. Time wait no one,> Rutile answered. But from her tone it's definitely obvious that she's also not too happy with the development.
Their plan was to train as soon as they found the training ground... and yet when they're able to find one, they ended up having to spend a lot of time re-shaping it. Which means, they need specialized Pokemons for it. The more the better. Tetsu didn't ask Ettie for help because he's not good at explaining, and her canines are not that suitable for what he have in mind.. The positive side, he had those specialized Pokemons ready... but unfortunately, when Tetsu contacted the border customs, he was unable to take the much needed worker Pokemons... which means the date for the training ground completion have to be pushed back, and in turn they're unable to get much done.
Which leads to this dilemma, emergency without the time to prepare themselves. In itselves... emergencies are emergencies. It can't be helped. It's part of life, but it's also not good at all to get slapped with it out of sudden.
<Tetsu, tense> Sarafina muttered melancholically. The Litleo walked closer to her trainer in hope that she could soothe him. Oh how she wished she could bunt his leg just to tell him that she's here... but he's so focused, so clearly looking at the front with aura sight.
<Tetsu, had bad history. Rampaging Pokemons, not good> Azalea spoke kindly to explain to her fellow trained Pokemon.
<Hostility, Tetsu dislikes. Tetsu loves Pokemon, but if Pokemon hates Tetsu... Tetsu scared,> Riku supplied <Tetsu bad with Pokemon... who hates human. Pokemon hates human, makes Tetsu felt hated. Tetsu want Pokemon to trust human.>
Yes, since a while, the boy has been quite listless and tense. It wasn't until Ettie spoke that he jolted back and forced a smile.
"Sorry, I don't think I have seen anything yet. My Aura Sight has yet to pick up anything noticable. But I'll tell you when I found something... After all, Schizen is there, see?" he pointed at the Scyther who had gone ahead of the team to scout. The strongest in his team would be Alexandrite, who since a while ago was silent. Something is brewing in the air it seems.

Tetsu Asterite Ettie A random event has occurred! The briefing that Ettie and Tetsu had received from Russetton Police HQ before leaving town pointed them toward a trail on the very western edge of the Badlands. The trail rose from the dusty ground and up the scintillating cliffs. Ettie easily found evidence of a scuffle near an abandoned Ranger outpost, what with several tents being torn to shreds, as well as skeletons of long-scavenged prey. With her knowledge of Pokémon habitats, the girl was able to confirm that this damage was most likely not done by a fire-type Pokémon. Tetsu, on the other hand, found even more exciting evidence of a nearby quarry, or worrying, depending on his perspective. As he sidled his way up trail, he felt four deep, clean, and long horizontal cuts into the cliff roughly at the height of his head, all four distinct yet very close to one another. It was very unlikely that these came from a clawed Pokémon. Whatever caused those had to be really big and really strong.

As Tetsu's pokemon spoke amongst themselves, Ettie's own pack would speak in kind - Anne glancing over towards Riku and Rutile, as they lamented over the training they weren't able to accomplish, before this all began. <Will be okay.> She'd reassure the canids - even if they weren't directly of her own pack, she still felt the need to be a good leader figure for them as well. <Our pack work with yours. We protect eachother.>
<Yeah!> Duchess would concur as positively as ever, her tail wagging. <We all have eachother!>
Even that being said though, Princess would be quiet and stoic - her gaze peering out towards the horizon alongside Anne's own - and Ruffian, too, would be keeping an eye out for any signs of danger. On top of this, Pierre was a bit uneasy; eyes constantly casting about them, as if he expected a monster to jump out from behind every rock (which, really, he half did!) His overactive imagination was doing the poor Furfrou no favors; the only thing keeping him from bolting with his tail between his legs being the facts that Ettie was relying on him as a steed, and that he had his pack, and Tetsu's own pokemon, to back him up if danger came their way.
As they moved though, the pokemon would continue to converse - Anne quietly listening, as Sarafina, Azalea, and Riku all discussed Tetsu's uneasiness. Ettie, too, couldn't help but pick up bits and pieces - though Azalea was still hard to understand, she could easily recognize Tetsu's name among the Frillish's words; and Riku she could understand clear as day. She would remain silent though - as Anne was next to speak up. <Hard to trust, when hurt by something, like humans.> She would state knowingly yet solemnly - even as she cast Tetsu a sympathetic gaze. <Safer for wilds, to not trust what hurt.>
Once bitten, twice shy; wild pokemon were naturally wary for a reason. They lacked the care of a human who will patch them up, if they make a mistake and get themselves hurt; and so it is far safer for one to take as few risks as possible, unless they are absolutely desperate. Of course though, frightened, desperate, injured, or cornered, all were qualities that - even individually - made for a dangerous wild pokemon, who was ready to lash out however necessary for survival.
As Tetsu offered a smile, and responded to Ettie, the young girl would nod a bit in response - understanding. However, it was clear that something was bothering her - namely the talk that the other pokemon were having, as well as Tetsu's own behavior. His body language read as uneasy, which in turn was making her a bit unsure as well. "... We've all got your back, okay Tetsu?" She'd simply respond with her own attempt at an encouraging smile - using her height advantage, thanks to being on Pierre's back, to pat Tetsu on the head. "If something's bothering you, don't be afraid to tell us!"
She wanted to be encouraging to her fellow trainer, after all!
... Though before long, they would begin to trail near a Ranger outpost - a place that seemed to have not seen any humans in awhile, from the looks of things. "... No smoke, no ash... Don't smell anything burning or burnt, either...." Ettie would murmur thoughtfully, as the pack looked about and sniffed at everything. "Probably no fire types here. Might not be any electric types, either? But dunno about that." If she had to make a guess, that'd probably leave ground, rock, and steel types for most likely suspects; which, meant that some of her pups might have trouble against whatever was to come.
All she could hope, was that they'd be able to stay stalwart as can be in the face of whatever wild pokemon that may crop up.
Though it quickly became clear that Pierre, Duchess, and Princess were all unnerved by the presence of bones; whereas Anne, Ettie, and Ruffian all seemed indifferent to the remains. The remains of prey were ordinary sights for Anne and Ettie, and Ruffian - as always - was stubborn and trying to be tough. The other three canines, however, were more used to street life; and were thus surprised by the sight. "Meat-eating pokemon, most likely." Ettie would further observe as she reassuringly pet Pierre's neck. From gazing over the bones, and noting the lack of any signs of even leftover vegetation, it seemed pretty obvious that they were carnivorous - or at least had a heavy preference for meat. "Don't think they really eat berries or plants? Unless they just didn't leave any scraps behind."
From the presence of the bones though, Ettie would tentatively also rule out Mightyena or Poochyena. If there had been either species of canid pokemon present, they likely would've eaten the bones here, with their powerful jaw strength. (Though then again, this environment seemed much too hot for them as well - black fur doesn't do much favors in keeping cool!)
All in all though, it certainly raised the question of just what to expect out here...

<Would do best to not hold each other down> Rutile answered to that. She seem the type of leader that's felt a bit guilty to depend on other people not from her own pack. Riku on the other hand just nodded. He noticed that he probably should just help Tetsu while at it. Both the trainer and Pokemon is focusing themselves on their aura sight.
<But what... if these Pokemons just dislikes human?> suddenly Alexandrite commented <Sometimes there are Pokemon who dislikes human for petty reasons. Or saw human as a part of their own survival of the fittest.>
Most of Tetsu's Pokemon looked pensive for a while (except Schizen who is scouting ahead). Riku felt Alexandrite have a strong point. What if they just causing mayhem because exactly they felt human is part of their system and thus saw it fit to bother them too while looking for foods or for territory? In that case however...
<In that case, interrupting shouldn't matter,> he answered. <If Pokemon disturb human, because they want to... then we, the same. We help because we want.>
Ettie's concern... made Tetsu flinch a bit, not from wrong wording or something, but from how easily he was read... but then he looked at his Pokemons, who each looked at different direction the moment he does. Oh, they have been chatting about him huh. He can't help but to snort. Now a more genuine smile appeared on his face.
"...Sorry about that, I'm just not feeling too eager for today's job is all. My little town ever got attacked by rampaging Pokemon who got their eggs stolen by Poachers. We unknowingly letting poachers stays in our town, and in turn several Tyranitar, furious that humans stole their egg, caused a big havoc. My house was among many that got destroyed. I just... remembered their hate filled eyes. They don't care who was responsible. All humans are bad humans to them because the scent of the egg was so strong in the town. The fact that we welcomed them alone basically made us like their cahoots even we had no idea.
The rampage caused quite a lot of mayhem. I got hospitalized and feared Pokemon for a while. My sister... she got the worse end of the stick. Her precognition made her able to minimize harm that done to me, but in turn she got herself trapped under debris, protecting me until we got rescued. Her leg was never the same since that day. She can't really walk long, and even then she had to wear braces."
Hmmm, they're at their target area it seems. Tetsu looked around with aura sight, now more focused than before. First, he checked the surrounding for any weirdly out of place sights... There's no smell of anything burnt or ashy leftovers. The air also did not smell funny. He signed to his Pokemon to spread themselves and check the surrounding area. Riku of course is sticking to him.
"...Yeah I don't think it's fire type or electric type either... It's... missing the sign of both. Electric type would also leave a bit of charred marks here and there. If the burn mark has a big radius, then it's usually fire type. If the mark gouge more than leaving char, then that's usually electric type," Tetsu answered to Ettie's conjecture.
Bones. Tetsu looked at the shapes in hope to check for better look at them. "These are not recent. Most likely they preyed something here and then left and look for another place with preys. No vegetation could be attributed to this area... The post are abandoned, so most likely without anyone to care for it, the vegetation ended up withering... or maybe we're in their feeding ground indeed and the Pokemon ate them. But from the bones, I feel they strictly or mostly eat meats instead." he commented. "Though I guess you know that already... what do you think, Ettie? What usually going on near feeding grounds like this?"
Before he could ask more, Schizen let out a loud cry. Tetsu nodded at Ettie before running at that direction himself.
"Schizen, do you find something?" Tetsu asked his Scyther, who pointed at four, long slashes... hm? These aren't claw for sure...
"...Rutile, with me," Tetsu called out the Rockruff, who immediately followed him. He slowly goes up to the mark... hmmm the size, the height...
"Are these likely to be Skarmories?" he muttered to himself. Nope, that... doesn't sound right. Even if steel wings is involved, Skarmory's wingshape in how they fly versus how they use their attack felt a bit different from this... If it's really Skarmory's Steel Wing then it won't look like this. Tetsu ran his hand on the gashes, wondering whether it's caused by Air Cutter instead. Very fast wind blades would cause such effects too, but they should leave less friction compared to let's say being gouged by steel wings.
"..."
For the meantime let's check all sort of possibilities.

Tetsu Asterite Ettie A random event has occurred!Ettie's deduction was close, but not quite on the money. There was one arid-native Pokémon she had failed to think of initially when deciding what type it could be. Upon closer inspection, the young female noticed a deep, but narrow, imprint in the ground, obviously caused by a sharp object. There was only one carnivorous Pokémon known to live in dry climates, also capable of leaving a mark like that, and at that a gravely misunderstood species... Tetsu's Aura Sight was returning nothing at all. If a Skarmory had left those slash marks, there would have been detectable evidence. Sure, it was hard to track Aura residue without special training in specifically that, but this was nu Aura residue whatsoever. Was a Ghost-type behind this? Survival increases acknowledged.

Between the gossip of the pokemon, as well as Tetsu's own flinch, Ettie couldn't help but frown; visibly concerned over the dampered mood that the young boy has been in as of late. Hateful pokemon stressed him out - and frankly, Ettie couldn't blame him for that. Having someone be angry at you - especially if it's another wild pokemon - was, without a doubt, pretty stressful...
However, as Tetsu smiled and began to speak, Ettie would smile in turn - even if a hue of concern remained, given the subject at hand - relieved that this stress of his wouldn't be a constant thing. As he talked about his experience with a rampaging herd of Tyranitar though, the concern would become more apparent once more - hearing just how much he and his sister had to deal with, in the midst of the anger of those pokemon.
Slowly, gently, Ettie would once more reach out a hand to ruffle the top of Tetsu's head in an affectionate fashion; declaring out loud, with wholehearted confidence "Well... You don't have to be scared anymore, Tetsu; you've got us, and we've got you!" Smiling brightly, her aura-tail would be wagging, as she added "I'm sure we'll be able to deal with whatever comes this way, with all of us working together like this...!"
Duchess would concur with an eager bark; stating <Friends help friends! We are all pack!> with a confident and optimistic hue, her tail wagging. <We are family!>
Anne and Princess would share a glance at one another in response; though there would be a fond amusement on either pup's face as they glanced back at the happy Electrike. Her presence helped to keep spirits high, for sure.
As the group examined the bones and like, however, Ettie would be in deep thought; considering all of the evidence to be found here. Carnivorous, or otherwise primarily meat-eating pokemon, who had sharp implements of some form... This didn't strike Ettie as being where a Skarmory would want to nest and feed - definitely not high enough, definitely not brambled. With the mess about here though, the bones and the slash marks, there was another potential theory as to who was lurking around here...
"... Think there were Pawniards through here." Ettie would murmur to Tetsu. Pack hunters, typically led by a Bisharp, who used the sharp blades on their bodies to hunt and take their prey down. And a large open place like this, would likely be a prime habitat for a Pawniard gang to prowl about.
Frankly, a steel type pack would be a pain to deal with - but not impossible. Aurien was with them for a reason - Aurien, Duchess, and Princess all had direct means of dealing with the gang - even if Princess would have to be careful about getting hit by steel type attacks. Anne and Pierre, meanwhile, both had endeavor for if things got tough....
As Ettie's pups prepared to stand lookout, and sniff about for any signs of recent - or stale - scents though, the young girl would move to check in on Tetsu, and his own investigations. Seeing him look the marks on the cliffside over, she would tilt her head a bit - moving to his side. "Any luck over here?" She would ask, glancing over to Tetsu, and then the slash marks once more. Huhm... Did the Pawniards make this, too?

Tetsu was surprised at the sudden ruffle on the head. "H-hey..." he protested weakly, not really actually fighting against it. It feels nice... But he's feeling complicated that Ettie is the one doing it. It should be him, dangit! Yet still, it managed to cheer him up. The teen smiled and ruffled her hair back in turn. "...Thanks, Ettie. You're right. I'm not alone. I guess... I guess I'm trying too hard to be stronger than I am, and kind of excluding you and your pack... It's rude of me. I'll be depending on you guys then."
Duchess' cheerful barks, he can pretty much guess what she's saying. He smiled and pat her too. "You too, Duchess. Thanks a lot."
Seeing her trainer in better mood, Riku smiled. Rutile, still a bit tsundere, immediately softly bunting Duchess with her head as a "thanks for that" wordlessly. Now that the mood has considerably improved, Tetsu looked like he's ready. And ready he is when he stared at the gashes on the wall...
He know this one.
"Yeah, I think I know my target. That one over there is slightly different, but this one is a ghost type... specifically, a dual type, Ghost-Steel. There's no Aura. Absence of Aura is an unmistakable sign of ghost type."
Tetsu immediately took out his phone. "Schizen, I'm sorry, but it's time for a switch," he apologized to the Scyther.
Schizen nodded and returned to his pokeball. Tetsu transferred him to PC. What Tetsu took out next in return is a Pokeball with a marker on it. The moment he released the content, a blue tassel weaved around his arm like a reinforcing brace. The sword's size was quite noticable, almost as long as he is tall. He put the sheath on his back. The eye on the sword blinked, signing that it's indeed a Pokemon.
"Long time no see, partner. This time around we'll show them who is the better sword."
The sword on his hand, Durandal the Honedge, responded positively with a hum.

Ettie A random event has occurred!Upon further inspection, the marks didn't quite match the blade shape the Pawniard line wielded. It was difficult to tell for certain, though, given it was unknown how long ago this campsite was shredded. It was very possible that Pawniard could be the Pokémon behind it, given most of the tracks in the area had already disappeared. It did get windy in the Badlands on occasion, after all. Tetsu Asterite A random event has occurred!Tetsu's quick switch to Durandal was met with the sound of three lengths of steel being drawn from their scabbards. A trio of Honedge floated up to where Tetsu was standing, one of them the size of a greatsword. It was even longer than Durandal! All three pointed their blades at him, the leader looking ready to lock guards with Durandal. There wasn't a lot of space to maneuver up here, either, making fighting at range quite the challenge! An Alpha Honedge appears! It looks angry!STATS

OH DAMN! He did not expect that he was right! Tetsu quickly gets into stance while Durandal The sword Pokemon hummed once again, focused on the new opponent. "Rutile! You take on the stronger sword! And-- Sarafina!? Wait, wai---"
Rutile immediately goes to fight the smaller Honedge, but Sarafina immediately gone to fight the bigger minion... even though she have no fire moves! But Tetsu was in bigger danger. The bigger sword suddenly decided that it was the right time to strike. Shi-! Tetsu immediately reinforced his arm with aura reinforcement and strikes the body of the opposing sword with Durandal.
"Sorry, did that hurt?" Tetsu asked his sword. Durandal gripped his arm. 'No', he signed. "Alright, let's begin with the usual!" Tetsu clenched his index finger on the handle. With a deft swordplay, he danced along with Durandal, creating four shadow sword that encircled them and crossed together along with Durandal himself, 'Sword Dance'.
Rutile's battle was pretty much decided its seems. With Sucker Punch and Bite combo, the Rockruff pretty much already guaranteed to win against the smaller sword. Fury Cutter did little against her, and the Shadow Sneak only could do so much against her when she have Sucker Punch. Her fight was the fastest to end.
Sarafina meanwhile keep leering at ther opponent, who getting more and more frustrated. Having no other moves other than two of it, she keeps leering while tanking the Shadow Sneak. Sarafina's key to victory was her Rivalry ability, which makes it that she deals 25% more damage against Pokemon of same gender. Once her opponent switches to Fury Cutter tactic, Sarafina began to attack with Tackle. Sarafina is indeed more battered, but all thing considered, she has dropped her opponent's defense significantly. Durandal knew about the sword's gender and reassures Tetsu that "Sarafina will win". They have to focus on this one.
The big one.
Just then, Tetsu dashed with a shout to add extra oomph. It was an Aerial Ace versus Shadow Sneak. Tetsu and Durandal suddenly vanished, as if melding with the shadow, before coming out from the other sword's shadow and slashed it with empowered ghost attack! However, as expected, it won't simply go down just like that. However, in turn, Durandal has been hit by the attack too! ...Shit, that's right isn't it... Honedges have No Guard which ensures that all abilities hit no matter what. This ensure that both Honedges will always clash no matter what. Tetsu could feel that all these fighting is starting to chip on Durandal's health. The sword however stayed resolute. As the currently strongest member of Tetsu's team, it wanted to win this fight.
"How many times you think we can clash?" Tetsu asked to his sword.
Durandal squeezed his arm twice. Tetsu nodded. "Sounds fair... Well then..."
Tetsu once again ordered Durandal to execute Shadow Sneak, but this time around, looks like the other Honedge had different idea. Shadow Sneak against Shadow Sneak... and Tetsu managed to notice on time that its trajectory wasn't directed at Durandal but at him. The teen gritted his teeth and dodged right on time, leaning his head away from the oncoming blade, but wasn't enough to avoid being cut entirely. He could felt that the place which was touched had its energy sipped. Thankfully it was just a slight cut on the cheek.
He could hear Riku cried in surprise and anger, Azalea about to step in the fight, Durandal's building up fury as he attacked the other sword with the same Shadow Sneak. Alexandrite also wanted to have a go at the sword, but Tetsu--
"DON'T COME!!" he told the rest of his team. "Calm yourself down! Watch for sign of other Pokemons at it!"
Just one more clash... just one more... Tetsu gently strokes Durandal's tassel. He now know what he's up against... This Pokemon is an energy thirsty Pokemon... A 'true' cursed sword to its core. He lowered his stance down for a final thrust. An arm on the front to prepare him for an aim, and his left arm behind, holding Durandal, pointing at the opponent Honedge. It too, has once again, aimed itself to point its blade at him rather than at Durandal.
And immediately, Tetsu kicked the ground! Shadow Sneak against--! It's using Destiny Bond! The sword made a metal sound of glee... and yet...
"Gotcha."
Having a same Pokemon means knowing what will comes next. Destiny Bond might be useful, but only if the Pokemon got knocked out. But this time around, his idea was to catch it!
Repeat Ball, Go! Catching the big Honedge! Tetsu's DEX is 4!

As the Rockruff bunted against Duchess, she would - in turn - wag her tail happily, making a soft yip in response, as she decided to give Rutile a little lick on the nose in turn! Rutile is friend, and pack, too! Seeing this, Ettie couldn't help but giggle happily; leaning down from her perch on Pierre's back, to pet the Electrike briefly.
However, as the group's investigations went on, and Ettie joined up with Tetsu, it seemed that the young man believed that the culprits here were some Honedge! This would get Ettie perking curiously, as she eyed the slash marks. "Ohhhh... Aren't those ghost types?" She'd muse out loud - to which Pierre, whom she was still seated on, would make a distinct whine of fear, scrambling back and away from the slash marks! "W-woah, Pierre..!" The young girl would exclaim in surprise, her fingers knotting into the Furfrou's fur to maintain her balance. "What's wrong..?"
<Nope! Don't like ghosts!> Pierre would proclaim with a whimper, eyes glancing about wildly, the whites plainly visible. Were the Honedge still here? Were they watching, in wait, to ambush them while they were unsuspecting?? Would they drain every last bit of life from his body and leave him a husk??? <No ghosts, please?!>
Despite Pierre's plea though, there would - indeed - be Honedges. Not only would Tetsu pull out Durandal, (which would have Pierre backing away with a soft whine,) but there would be a whole trio of angry wild Honedge...! Yelping in terror, Ettie would lose control over Pierre as the Furfrou began to turn tail and flee from the scene - back towards where the other pups were sniffing and searching about. <GHOSTS! GHOSTS! GHOSTS..! THEY'LL DRAIN OUR LIFE..!>
"G-gah!" Ettie would yelp, as she was nearly flung from Pierre's back, being forced to hang into the Furfrou's neck for dear life. "P-Pierre! It's okay! S-slow down..!" She'd try in vain to reassure the canine - although he would only come to a stop when he dove into the remains of one of the outpost tents, in an attempt to hide from the sword pokemon; much to the bewilderment of the other pups.
<Ghosts...?> Duchess would question - glancing to Anne. Were ghost-type pokemon really that scary...?
The Rockruff, meanwhile, would be staring out in Tetsu's direction as the sounds of combat began ringing out. It sounded like the first of the pokemon they were hunting down had appeared. <Be ready to help!> She'd soon bark to her packmates; moving towards Tetsu's fight to watch over it, as Duchess, Princess, and Ruffian all followed at her heels.
Ettie, meanwhile, remained at Pierre's side; sighing as she felt the startled beating of her heart finally begin to calm, as she stroked Pierre's neck reassuringly. "It's okay, Pierre; you're safe from the ghosts..." She'd attempt to soothe the Furfrou, her sympathy plain. Who knew, that the poor Furfrou had such an ingrained fear of ghost-types...?
<Don't like ghosts.... Ghosts scary...> Pierre would whine in response, even as he nuzzled into Ettie's touch. Something that he couldn't touch, something that he couldn't do anything about, was such a terrifying concept to him...
"I know..." She murmured in response, nuzzling against the back of his neck. "It's okay..."

Tetsu Asterite threw a Repeat Ball! CatchDnTRRlASp_Fleep_Breakp_Tetsu's Repeat Ball flew toward the Honedge. His aim wasn't quite true, striking the hilt instead of the eye. While it was drawn into the Ball, it only stayed inside for a split second, expelling the Ball back toward its owner at high speed. While there were a couple of large cracks on its underside, the Repeat Ball still appeared to be usable. Briefly vibrating in mid-air as an obvious sign of anger, the ghost-type swung its blade in circles, flying toward Tetsu and his team. He had to think fast, or he was going to get seriously hurt! --- Ettie A random event has occurred! While Pierre's concern about ghost Pokémon was warranted, Ettie was finding more and more evidence that the Pokémon behind the wrecked campsite was not one of them. The perpetrator would make itself known in a big way, though - a giant Absol silently slinked around the corner before lunging at Pierre with sickening speed and a lowered forehead blade reflecting bright light into Ettie's eyes if she didn't hide her face behind the Furfrou! That was dang bad. Tetsu gritted his teeth as the Pokeball failed. While the other two Honedges already subdued, it's not the case with the big boss. On top of it, Sarafina is quite badly hurt from all the tanking she did. She's, without glossing it, practically on her last leg. Rutile has moved in to protect her in case thing goes south. While this happened, Tetsu already moved in to block the wildly swinging sword. Durandal let out a vibration as both sword clashed.
"Hang in there, Durandal!" Tetsu whispered to his Honedge. It responded positively, squeezing its tassel momentarily against his arm. Following another Shadow Sneak, Tetsu tossed the same Repeat Ball. He need to catch or defeat the other Pokemon. He need to end its menace otherwise this gonna be repeated again and again.
But just as he thought that the coast is clear somehow, he heard Riku cried. Tetsu whipped his head toward where his longest partner's sound came from. To his surprise, there are Absols. Absols who are now attacking Ettie!
"Prepare to assist!" he told his Pokemons. "Sarafina, stay!" He quickly pulled out potions that he have been prepared for time like this. While the ball wiggled, he got time to dash toward the now wounded Litleo. the chance of catching the sword would be slim, and in worst case, it would break out again and try to attack him again just like the Beedrill. But even so, the momentary reprieve helps to treat his Pokemon.
"Ettie, shout if you need help!" Tetsu told her.
Repeat Ball GO!

Certainly, it seemed that things were going a bit haywire for Ettie and Tetsu both. While Tetsu was gaining the advantage in the fight against the Honedges, with only the Alpha left to worry about, it seemed that the pokemon that had set up in the camp had come home - and none of them were pleased about another pack snooping about. As the Alpha Absol came in with a snarl, Megahorn at the ready, Pierre would jolt in fear; but nonetheless wrapped one of his front legs around Ettie, prepared to protect his trainer from the oncoming threat...!
... Although likely none of the three present would have expected it, when Aurien would - suddenly - come out of his pokeball; suckerpunching the Alpha Absol with a sudden Aqua Jet..! <Too slow!> The Alpha would stagger backwards - not necessarily hurt, but being quite startled - only to be sent reeling, as the cavalry arrived in the form of the rest of Ettie's pack!
<BEGONE!> Princess snarled as she slammed into the Alpha Absol's side - the two tumbling in the dirt as the Snubbull snapped her jaws down on the dark-type in a Super Fang; prompting the Absol to howl in a pained anger. Anne and Duchess, meanwhile, both threw their heads back in a simultaneous Howl, that filled with the other pups with spirit; Ruffian charging in to strike at the Alpha with a Retaliate!
However, the Alpha's own posse would arrive - Ruffian being intercepted, when he would suddenly be struck with a Pursuit from a rather small-looking Absol! The two would collide in a growling mess; and a more average-sized Absol would attempt to join in the fight, only for Aurien to intercept him as well with a second Aqua Jet!
It was a mess, to say the least, pack fighting pack; though Ettie was quick to take point in directing her pack, glancing to the others. "Pierre - help Princess out against the alpha. Ruffian, Aurien, keep the rest of the pack busy!" The child would call, seeing as the pokemon would begin to find their respective opponents to square off against. "Anne, Duchess, keep using Howl to inspire everyone!"
Pierre, initially, was nervous and reluctant to fight - especially against such a large and intimidating-looking Absol. However, he would nonetheless spring to action as he saw the Alpha Absol manage to fling Princess off its back, and fixate the Snubbull with a Mean Look..! Charging in, Pierre would kick up a Sand Attack at the Alpha - which would send the Absol spluttering just long enough for Princess to do a second Super Fang!
Once more the Alpha was yowling in anger as he thrashed to throw the Snubbull off; the Super Fang doing a surprising amount of damage even on its second hit. However, it seemed that the time for games was over; for the dark-type would once more lower its horn, and charge towards Pierre in a Megahorn that sent the Furfrou tumbling with a sharp and pained yelp..!
And as a second chorus of Howls were let off, Ruffian and Aurien respectively could feel their blood pumping; fighting spirit rising in the overconfident fighty Lillipup and heroic daredevil Popplio respectively. They would stand off against their respective fighters, none of them seeming keen on backing off anytime soon.
For Ruffian, the Lillipup would bare his fangs at the oppossing Absol; calling <Huhhhhhh?? Think you can beat me? Try this!> as he charged forward in a Retaliate, striking at the small-sized Absol in the shoulder! The dark-type, meanwhilst, would retaliate in kind as he tumbled over; rolling back onto his paws, and charging forward at the Lillipup with his horn in a Pursuit..!
Aurien, meanwhile, was using Aqua Jet to stay on his toes - the water rushing around him to propel him about the battlefield against the larger Average-sized Absol. <I fight for pack!> This one seemed more unsure about this one-on-one fight; occasionally casting glances at his packmates - but not wishing to dare turn his back on the Popplio, in fear of a surprise attack. Thus, as his eyes fell upon Aurien once more, the two would clash in a Quick Attack from the dark-type, and an Aqua Jet from the Popplio..!
Pierre tumbling over from the Megahorn, however, seemed to enrage Princess some; the large Snubbull clearly displeased at her pack being put in danger. Letting out a snarl, Princess was quick to dive back towards the Absol once more; giving no quarter as she now bit down on the dark-type with a Fire Fang. As the flames licked at the Absol's fur, he would snarl - twisting his head around to retaliate with a Bite of his own, as they began to tumble in the sand..!
Pierre, meanwhile, would stagger up to his paws - the Absol's Megahorn being a big hit, between it already being a strong move, and the two having such a disparity in strength. He was already losing a bit of that previous inspiration to continue fighting - even amidst the continued chorus of Anne and Duchess' Howls - but would continue to try to support Princess by aiming one last Sand Attack at the Alpha Absol. With that however, he was beginning to back away from the fight; licking at the gouge over his shoulder, and attempting to disengage...
... Only for the Alpha's Mean Look to stop him in his tracks, as he flinched. This was not a fight he would get away from so easily.
Thankfully however, the third chorus of Howls meant that the pack was easily gaining the advantage; Aurien, Ruffian, and Princess all respectively making the most of their increases in strength to fight back the Absol pack. And when Anne and Duchess dove in to join in the fray, it was clear that the Absols were starting to rethink the fight that they had picked; the Average and Small Absols respectively beginning to tire as they backed away from their respective fights.
Even the Alpha, as he managed to throw off Princess yet a third time, was panting as he eyed the opponents that his pack was up against; and glancing to his peers, he would bark at them, prompting the pack to begin to group together more closely. Their eyes flicked between the canids that were beginning to close in, the angry pack growling at not only Ettie having been endangered by the Absols, but also at one of their own being hurt. It looked as though the pack was prepared to cut their losses and run, but..
"... Wait!"
... Before any fleeing could occur, Ettie's voice would call out - breaking the pack out of their mutual anger, and also prompting the Absols to pause in their tracks, casting the young girl quizzical and wary glances. Slowly, and carefully, Ettie would step towards the Absols - wordlessly gesturing for the pack to back away a little, to give the wild pokemon some breathing room.
Once Ettie was close enough though - her pack gathered at her side - she would offer the Absols a gentle and sympathetic smile; sitting down on the ground, and avoiding making any potentially threatening gestures or movements, such as staring them in the eye. "I'm sorry that we had to fight like that... I know we're probably intruders on your territory, and that you're all probably not very happy at humans, either." Ettie would begin to speak, to which one of the absols would respond with a rumbling chuff - as if to say 'no duh'.
"My pack and I only wanted to protect ourselves. We don't want to - and won't - chase any of you away from yet another home. If this is where you're all happy, I'm happy to tell them to just leave you alone, if you three can promise to leave humans alone in return." Ettie would continue to speak, adding "We'll leave peacefully, and let you three settle here, if any of you wish. Though..."
At the though, the Absols would once more become wary and unsure, glancing amongst themselves; but Ettie rose a hand to gesture for them to wait, as she pulled out a few Ultra Balls. "... If any of you want, perhaps the three of you could come with me?" She'd suggest, her smile growing warm. "We're just a pack who wants to learn more about humans, and live in our own little territory of our own - and if any of you three would like to come with me, I'd love to make new friends."
"You three can live with us, as packmates, or I could help you all find your own homes... Whatever any of you three want, I want to make up for humans causing hurt like this."
Anne, speaking up, would state <We look out for packmates. If you join, you will be packmate.> in a promise of protection, if the three decided to accept Ettie's offer. Duchess, too, would chirp <More friends good!> with a wag of her tail.
But how would the Absols feel, about the offers made?
