The Training Grounds are full of courses designed for Pokémon to run. Some are plain ovals or other simple shapes; others are full of curves of various angles; still others have obstacles such as hurdles for Pokémon to clear. They all have one feature in common, though; the artificial turf the courses are built on are made out of sturdy but highly shock-absorbent material, greatly reducing the impact of falls. Surveillance cameras also monitor these courses throughout the facility's hours in the event of an accident, making this the safest place for a land Pokémon to learn to coordinate with a passenger.
This Quest is not required to ride a land Pokémon, but it is one of the ways to certify a Land Ride Pokémon. To become Land Ride certified using this method, you must score at least 100 points on the course or practice for at least a half hour.
Unlike most Quests, you may have
one Ride Training, Surf Training, or Flight Training thread concurrently active with another Quest from this board.InstructionsYour first post should consist of 200 or more words, then a roll with the [ proll ] command. This is your score; the goal is to earn 100 points. If you do not reach 100 points, you will need to write 200 more words. Posts can be slightly over or under; what's important is the average is at least 200 words and each post is at least 150 words. After this next section, make another roll with [ proll ]. This process repeats until you have reached 1,000 words or you have reached 100 points, at which point you succeed in Land Ride training.
If you wish, you may make separate posts for each section. This is recommended if you do this Quest with two characters.
Characters with the "Training Specialist" feature only need 80 points or 800 total words to succeed.
This Quest
cannot be combined with normal Training threads. However, if you have multiple Pokémon you wish to Ride Train, you may do so if all of them are undergoing the same type of Ride Training (land, sea, or sky). You may also start a new Training thread that picks up ICly where the Quest left off.
No rewards are earned until the thread is closed.
Location
Training Grounds
Rewards150 Pen, 3 Rare Candies, and the ability to ride the trained Pokémon on land routes.

The Training Grounds facilities have massive pools designed for use by Water Pokémon, sectioned off by depth. This way, trainers can utilize the most shallow water that their Pokémon will comfortably be able to swim in. There are several kinds of pools: one has no obstacles, one is filled with buoys to dodge, one is a wave pool to practice in unsteady waters, and there is even a pool or two shaped like a race course for those who want to practice speed. Life jackets are provided at the pool's entrance, and are mandatory for all to wear. The entire aquatic complex is under life guard supervision during all hours of operation, making it the safest place for a Pokémon to learn to bear a rider across the waves.
To become Sea Ride certified using this method, you must score at least 100 points on the course or practice for at least a half hour.

InstructionsEach Training Grounds facility has an open area designed for trainers to learn how to ride aboard flying Pokémon. There are poles to fly around, large rings to fly through, and even a small maze to practice close-quarters maneuvering. This area is gated off from the rest of the facility and has a fenced-off ceiling that prevents riders from flying too high. The floor is made of artificial turf that is highly shock-absorbent, greatly reducing the impact of falls. Surveillance cameras also monitor this space throughout the facility's hours in the event of an accident, making this the safest place for a flying Pokémon to learn to carry a passenger.
